Hi All,

Today (ie 10th May 2019, around 4:30 PM IST) I did my first reset for GMAT Prep Exam#3 and Exam#4. But after the reset when I am trying to attempt Exam#3 (or Exam#4), I am getting the following error, I am unable to upload the screenshot so the error message is as follows:

ErrorCode- ES004. The Practice Exam you are trying to take is unavailable at this time. Please try again later.

Any one else faced this issue?
Any one having an idea on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks.
You are allowed to reset the "exam pack" tests once, so you're fine from that perspective. Drop an email to gmatofficialprep@mba[.]com outlining the situation and ask them to resolve this.

Hi Ajitesh,

I have dropped an email to gmatprep@mba[.]com and gmatofficialprep@mba[.]com. I got a request number allocated to my issue from the email sent to the first email id but not the one you have mentioned. I had dropped separate emails, around the same time.

Is there any difference between the 2 emails?

Hi Raunaq,

gmatprep@mba.com is a slightly older email ID that used to be listed under the contact us page on mba.com. That page was updated sometime in 2019, and the new email ID listed on that page is gmatofficialprep@mba.com. Don't worry if the reply came from the other ID.

Given that it was a very specific error, as I was not able to find anything on the internet. I was skeptical that it could be solved on call. Hence, I planned on dropping an email to them with the screenshot.

Even I have been facing the same issue for last 3 days. I dropped a mail to gmatofficialprep@mba[.]com stating the issue along with a screenshot, but the issue hasn't been resolved yet.

I have my official exam coming up in less than 1 week and I need to take these mocks, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any solution to this than just to wait for their response.

Hi Tushar30,

I understand how frustrating all of this might be. There are alternatives to taking the Official CATs though - and there's a broader issue about not trying to 'cram' in too much work before Test Day that you should consider.

The most realistic CATs available are the 6 from GMAC, but the CATs from Kaplan, MGMAT and Veritas are all 'close enough' to the real thing that they will provide you with a relatively realistic score assessment (assuming that you correctly take the CAT in a realistic fashion). As such, taking a CAT from any of those sources would be a reasonable alternative if you cannot get access to the Official CATs.

That having been said, the process of taking (and reviewing) a CAT requires a significant amount of energy and effort - and takes time to 'recover' from. This is one of the reasons why you typically should not take more than 1 CAT per week - and your last CAT should be taken about 1 week before Test Day. If you were to take multiple practice CATS in the last few days right before your Official GMAT, then there would be a reasonable chance that you might 'burn out' a bit on Test Day. "Cramming" rarely leads to great results on Exams such as the GMAT - so you could probably take one more CAT (as long as you did so at least 3 days before your Official Test Date) - but you would be better served by doing light study and review during the last few days and getting some extra rest (so that you can go into Test Day calm, clear-headed and ready to work).

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Did you ever get any response or a solution?

I also have the same issue except the error code I get is ES007.

I also have my official exam in 5 days but it seems I will have to go into it without any official prep test practice :(

Hi,
You can register your concern by calling the customer care line at +1 (703) 668-9602 (available 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern time) and they will request the tech team to resolve your concern.

Mine is not resolved yet, it has been 30 hours, I'm waiting for them to revert.

So essentially, When you login back and try to access the test it gives you error still? Is the customer care number toll free for Indians as well?
