Goizueta ($) vs. Kelley ($$) vs. McCombs

Question

I was accepted into Goizueta with about 1/3 scholarship, Kelley with about 1/2 scholarship, and McCombs with no scholarship. I am looking to go into brand management for a CPG company, and I am open to any location post-MBA. I know Kelley puts out a lot of brand managers into the CPG space, but I also know that Goizueta and McCombs places pretty well also.

Congrats! The three schools are fairly similar in their stance and rankings.

One thing that does concern me with Kelley is that it is in the middle of nowhere which has a bit of an impact on on-campus recruiting and networking - makes it harder. Both Emory and McCombs are in large metro areas and it is easier to build and maintain a network there, though lots of things happen virtually, so you can network even from remote locations like Tuck.

Hi studenthopeful , I think in that case I would rely on following factors to come up with a final decision: 1. Money - do you think spending alot on McCombs will be economical for you? I think Kelley's more money will actually compensate the city travels, thereby making it almost equivalent to what Emory is offering. -- Emory Wins 2. City vs Town - Where would you like to live? Do consider that Kelley would require you to travel alot to Chicago or other cities. This can be avoided by staying in a city itself. -- McCombs/Emory wins. 3. Kelley is very strong in Brand Management but other factors outweigh its strength. -- Kelley Wins Finally, I would consider talking to students at each of the schools and consider what seems "fit" for me. I think Emory is the overall winner.

Thanks for the feedback. I have narrowed it down to Kelley and McCombs. I am very torn between the two. I am leaning towards Kelley due to my goal of going into brand management, as well as the half tuition scholarship.

Congrats studenthopeful for both schools. If I were you, I would search extensively for recruitment in either schools for recruiting brand management for internationals. As far as I know (and maybe mistaken) that those kind of jobs are almost limited to citizens. So Try to check with more students and career office in both schools. The director of career in Kelley 'Eric Johnson' is very humble and approachable as I know from my experience with him. He is honest and direct. Also, In Kelley, you can go directly to the academies section for 'consumer marketing' and shot email for career coach ' Suzanne Fodor'. You will get a lot of direct info. Can you give us an glimpse about bran management for internationals in Goizueta? It would be helpful to see the trend or pattern for internationals. Thanks

Update - while I haven't officially accepted, I have decided on Kelley. With a post-MBA interest to go into marketing, specifically brand management, Kelley's program seems like the best choice. Even though McCombs is ranked higher (and possibly on the upswing, with Kelley dropping in rankings), I feel that the strength of Kelley's marketing reputation outweighs everything else. The scholarship also helps too.
