A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more
---> at least twenty-two and more > Redundant (wrong)

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two
(Wrong)
---> some others > plural
That > singular

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two
---> correct

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two
---> this can be easily eliminated , "those like" (wrong)

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more
---> same issue as A
at least twenty-two and more (redundant)

IMO, Answer is C

A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more-- handicaps can be either twenty-two OR more. Can't be both at the same time.

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two -- The underlines part is a sentence fragment; "but" joins two ICs

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two -- CORRECT, short and eliminates the error in A

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two -- same as B

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more -- "like" is never used for giving examples in GMAT

So, answer should be C.

P.S.: Edited formatting.

Golf handicaps range from zero to 36.4, but while some golfers have no handicap at all, some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more.

A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more; some others implies there is another group(others) having another range of handicap. at least twenty-two and more is redundant, at least 22 implies 22 or more

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two; while some have..,[clause] we need a clause here. some others..that.. doesn't have a verb

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two; others have handicaps of more than 22. even though we are losing a value 22 in this option other options have issues not available in this option

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two; which can not used to refer to person

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more;at least twenty-two and more is redundant

IMO C

Golf handicaps range from zero to 36.4, but while some golfers have no handicap at all, some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more.

A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more - Incorrect - Redundancy - At least 20 means = 20 & more. so no need to repeat more again.

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two - Incorrect - - "That" is not required.

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two - Correct - Though some meaning change is there but this option has no error.

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two - Incorrect - parallelism, While X , Y - Both should be a clause. X = Some have ..., Y = others have....

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more - Incorrect - - Redundancy - At least 20 means = 20 & more. so no need to repeat more again.

A humble request – please give kudos if the explanation helps.

The answer is C.

First lets dissect the sentence.
1) Golf handicaps range from zero to 36.4,
2) but while some golfers have no handicap at all,
3) some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more.

SV pair – Others(Subject) and have (Verb)

A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more

“of at least twenty-two and more” is wordy
Some…, some others is wordy

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two

This choice is missing verb in the third clause ”some other… more”.

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two

This is correct answer choice.

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two

Like is not used to give examples. This is unidiomatic. Such as is used to give examples
Clint Eastwood, which – is incorrect.

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more

Like is not used to give examples. This is unidiomatic. Such as is used to give examples
“of at least twenty-two and more” is wordy

A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more
At least x and more - Redundant

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two
'that' doesn't make sense. breaking parallelism with 'some have no handicap'.

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two
Parallel structure - Correct

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two
Such as should be used

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more
Such as should be used

A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more - 'at least 22 means >= 22' Saying 'at least 22 and more' is redundant.

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two - The subject 'some others' has no verb. This is essentially a fragment. Incorrect choice.

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two - This is the correct option!

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two - 'like' is employed to present examples. While this is not a decisive decision point, we can definitely take this into consideration. Also, 'which' seems to refer to those but it is placed next to Clint Eastwood. Ambiguous/incorrect placement of which.

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more - Here again, 'like' is used to present examples. This also repeats the error of the original sentence.

The sentence joins two independent clauses using "comma plus but". The first clause provides a range while the second clause provides a comparison between the range of some golfers and others such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood.
Split 1) such as vs like
Such as should be used to provide examples. Thus options containing like are incorrect. So options D and E are out.

Option A has a clear redundancy error in " atleast twenty-two and more". Atleast is enough to cover anything over twenty two and thus the use of "and more" is redundant. So option A is out.
Option B does not form a complete sentence. "That" introduces a subordinate clause and we are left with no verb for the subject "others". Incorrect.
Option C gets rid of all the errors of the other sentences and is thus the correct answer.

Golf handicaps range from zero to 36.4, but while some golfers have no handicap at all, some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more.

A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more

1st problem ----> 'some others' -> Does not seem to be the correct phrasing as from the meaning of the sentence we need to now talk about the remaining golfers. Hence only 'others' will suffice.
2nd Problem ----> 'at least twenty-two and more' ----> If this would have been 'at least twenty-two
or more', then it would have been fine. This phrase in option is non sensical

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two

The way sentence is arranged, no verb present for 'some others' in this option, which is required here.

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two

Correct Answer. Best of the lot

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two

1st problem ----> 'like' -> is not preferred to give examples on the GMAT.
2nd Problem ----> 'while' joins two independent clauses but no verb present for the second supposed independent clause

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more

'like' -> is not preferred to give examples on the GMAT.

Hence answer should be 'C', IMO

Golf handicaps range from zero to 36.4, but while some golfers have no handicap at all, some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more.

Golf handicaps range from x to y, but while some golfers have no handicap at all such as A & B, some others have handicaps of at least 22 and more

A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more - hold it.

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two - removing clutter exposes the that error.

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two - hold it.

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two - like never used to present examples/list. so out

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more - like never used to present examples/list. so out

Let's compare A & C.
A) Golf handicaps range from x to y, but while some golfers have no handicap at all such as A & B, some others have handicaps of at least 22 and more
C) Golf handicaps range from x to y, but while some golfers have no handicap at all such as A & B, others have handicaps of more than 22

C is more concise and elegant structure than A.

Imo. C

Answer : C

A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more - INCORRECT
Reason: at least twenty-two and more doesn't seem right. at least twenty-two or more.

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two- INCORRECT
Reason: That refers to some others. That can't refer to people

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two - CORRECT

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two - INCORRECT
Reason - Like can't be used to provide examples.

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more - INCORRECT
Reason - Like can't be used to provide examples.

I don’t understand the meaning of extra comma after the names in the context. Ones like - really gives Bill Gates the extra credit here. Hence my answer is E

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more

A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more
at least means it can be more than 22. So, "and more" is redundant - Incorrect

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two
There is an extra 'that' here. - Incorrect

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two
Use of such as is correct here. Also, there is not atleast + more than error.
Though this sentence changes the meaning slightly (atleast <> more than), the others are definitely incorrect. So stick with this one.

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two
Like is incorrectly used to state examples. This sentence doesn't intend to do a comparison using 'like'.
Also, the use of which is not correct. - Incorrect

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more
This one has 'like' and 'atleast + more than' error - Incorrect

Thus, Option C it is!

A. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more
at least 22 and more is redundant. it should be just "at least 22"

B. some others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, that have handicaps of more than twenty-two
what is that referring to? i. "that" is singular cant refer back to a plural antecedent ii. I believe "who" modifier is always used for people. Hence, incorrect.

C. others, such as Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, have handicaps of more than twenty-two
no errors, "such as" to intro examples and fixed the error in A

D. those like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood, which have handicaps of more than twenty-two
like shouldnt be used to intro examples. "which" shouldn't be used to refer back to people. I believe "who" modifier is always used for people.

E. the ones like Bill Gates and Clint Eastwood have handicaps of at least twenty-two and more
repeating errors of A and D

C is the winner!
