Harvard (HBS) Calling all applicants - Class of 2016

9% for invites so far.. I doubt wave two will release larger chunk of invites than last year...

I think it will; if you look at the previous year (harvard-2013-hbs-calling-all-applicants-134055.html), the invited to interview and interviewed total is 60 out of 335 R1, which is 18% of GMAT Club applicants. As long as quality is roughly the same, wave 2 should be just as big as wave 1 (at least i'm hoping this is true)

Word on the street seems to be that the bulk of PE megafund associates have received invites, which suggests that the bulk of people who'll receive HBS interview invites have already received them. Not to be pessimistic, but if you look back at last year's thread, there was a lot of fuzzy, optimistic thinking very much along the same lines of this year's thread comments, so I'm skeptical (but hopeful) that this year's Wave 2 will be sizable.

Based on last year's thread, it seems like best way to know how big Wave 2 will be is to ask those who've received invites roughly how many "spots" were up for interview when they signed up for times, but I don't know if that is easily visible this year. In any case, as the wiser folks have noted, this is all pointless speculation that doesn't actually increase our chances tomorrow.

With the interview scheduling, once a slot was booked, it disappeared from the list so unless the first person on counted every slot, it would be impossible to know. Different locations had different numbers of available times and it's impossible to know how many slots were available at each time in each location. I have a feeling they do this intentionally.

If it helps, the subject of the email was "Interview Invitation" so hopefully that saves you 3 seconds of anxiety before you actually open the email...

I am a re-applicant for R1, who was dinged off the waitlist last year..Has any re-applicant received an invitation in Wave 1?

I know 4 re-applicants who have received interviews in Wave 1.

For those not receiving invites, hold your head high, cue up some Chumbawamba, and move on. There are great success stories both inside and outside of HBS, and they all start with great adversity.
