Hi all,

I urgently need help here. I’ve done my graduation from St. Xavier’s Bombay (CGPA 3.67/4). Headed a lot of college fests. I also volunteered in an NGO. I’ve two internships and currently working with one of the big 3 consulting firms (~1.5 years of work ex as of today, but would be 2 by the time i get in). I also went for Oxford Summer school. I havent given my gmat yet, but I plan to start preparing for the same in December and get my scores by feb end/ march beginning. I can only apply for round 4 for both HEC Paris and St. Gallens (application deadline being 17th April and 30th April resp.) What do you think are my chances of getting selected in the 4th round? Also, i’m a bit keen on the scholarships. What are my chances here of getting a scholarship. Also if I wait for another year and apply for Sptmeber 2019, so you think chances of getting a scholarship would be higher?

Would be great if you could respond at the earliest

Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

I have the same dilemma as shreya29. I just started preparing for the GMAT this month. Planning to sit the test early January and February while concurrently completing HBS CORe. I have completed my undergraduate in Australia (cGPA 3.0/4). My GPA is not the great due to several reasons due to family conflicts. Volunteered in Nepal, Philippines and in rural Australia (Indigenous Community). I was part of various student led organisations (Exchange Club, Red Cross, Health & Medicine Student Association, Badminton Club) as a committee member. Completed an EMT training and currently working full-time as a CNA in a major level 1 trauma centre in Boston. I speak 3 different languages and visited more than 10 countries. I am applying for MiM programs primarily to my desire to change careers and be able be surrounded once again by diverse people. I have consulted several friends and mentors very recently and have come to the decision to shift careers from Medical/Science to Business/Management.

I have the same question, would be worth applying for the Round 4 applications? I was planning to complete my HBS CORe certificate first before application and be able to to more study for the GRE/GMAT.

Hi shreya29,

I believe premprabhs111 has messaged you. Any advice and plans that you would be able to share after doing some research?

Hi, I'm also applying for the MiM but in the third round. I have just got my bachelor in Economics and Management from the Catholic University of Central Africa. The grades system there is similar to the french one and I have a weighted average of 14/20 for my bachelor(similar to overall A's) so I guess a GPA of 3.5 up. I completed an exchange program in the United States at Dickinson College(GPA 3.3). I have four months of professional experience(internships only) in 2 leading banks in my country. I will be taking the GMAT end of January.
Additional information:
I was class delegate, vice-president of the modeling association of my school, member of the communication club of my school, red cross association of my school, bank association and member of a junior company at my school(akin to HEC junior conseil).
Do I have any chance of obtaining a scholarship?

Hello!

I've applied to HEC and ESSEC for the 3rd round of application and been quite tensed while waiting for results. I'm from India. I have 2 years of work ex (one with a start-up and currently with an international risk management firm). I've started my own organization and have been pretty active in the social entrepreneurship space. GRE - 312. College - 66%. School - 97% and 94% respectively. What are my chances of getting in?

Hi shreya29,

According to your work experience, it's a good time to apply however I can guide you better with a GMAT score in hand. Also, adCom gets more selective with proceeding rounds. So it's always better to apply sooner. Even chances of getting a scholarship are higher in initial rounds. I'm myself admitted into the incoming class of HEC Paris MBA Sep 2018 and I applied with 2 years of work experience. So you can consider that as well. Have you taken your GMAT now?

Regards,
Gunjan

Hi,

I see that you have a great international exposure. Don't worry much about your GPA as that's something done now. You should focus more on other aspects of your application and ensure that your global experience and exposure comes through in your application. Have you applied to any program yet? How was your GMAT?

Regards,

Hey all!

I am planning to apply in the upcoming deadline (August 15) and wanted someone to review my profile.

I am a 27-year old male from India. Scored 660 (Q49, V31) in my last GMAT. I scored 70% during my graduation. I graduated in Computer Science Engineering after which I joined the Teach For India Fellowship in April 2015. I completed my Fellowship in April 2017 and have been working as a Recruiter for Teach For India since then. (Total Work-ex = 37 months).

I am planning to give the GMAT once again in the first week of August and hope to score around 720.

Is my profile strong enough to be accepted for the Jan '19 intake?
