Hello all, i have been a long term lurker but never a poster.
So my question:

I have just been informed that i have been accepted at Hult International in London, i liked the international appeal of it, and went to a master class and liked it, so i applied a bit short noticed. The thing is, they did not ask for a GMAT, just based on experience and stuff would be enough, which is hmm.. , instead they had me take this Wonderlic Test (something a 12 year old could do).

But the thing is the more i investigated and researched on the forum, all the reviews got me a little hmmpf, especially with the placements.
My objective with the program would be to change career paths at the moment, something with project management or consulting.

My profile : European, 30 years old, 6 years experience including big projects (1 billion +), but i have a civil engineering background, and to this day this has been my experience, project management.

Now if i want to stay in the EU market and be sure to be able to do this transition, would this program be a fit?
p.s. (i have contacted with a few others, specially IMD and INSEAD and they said i had a strong profile there, just need to get that GMAT which i have not had time to do so far)

Any insight will be welcome,
Thank you

i believe that getting an mba would only be worthwhile if you went to a better school. there you will learn from world class professors, integrate with a diverse and accomplished classroom, and enjoy a better program. i would suggest that you take the GMAT and go to a school that fits your overall goals in terms of employment or future ambition. time is your most valuable resource.

conquer the gmat, reapply to good schools, and make your dreams come true. =P

Do not waste your time and money with Hult. You can focus your effort to get high GMAT score and join one of leading schools that could help you change you career and open doors such as LBS, INSEAD, IMD, HEC. You are targeting consulting career which is popular among MBA students and MBB or even high reputable second tier firms recruit from big schools.

good luck

Thank you both for the replies, i guess i just really needed someone to say it out loud so i can make sense of things.
So, if i may, two more small questions, in terms of changing career paths, is there any school in particular that would give me a little bit extra edge i guess?
And i have been reading this forum quite often, and well for Gmat prep , what is the best bang for the buck? Gmat club tests and magoosh?

Thank you for your time.

I have mentioned some of the high ranked schools in Europe that could help you change you career. You can find other schools in Europe in different rankings. For example

http://poetsandquants.com/2015/11/18/in ... al-mbas/2/

Regarding your question about GMAT club tests and Magoosh, I advise you to go to review section and check the reviews for both and other companies.

http://gmatclub.com/reviews/magoosh-345345496
http://gmatclub.com/reviews/tests-gmat- ... -345345662

You can also go to question bank and check type of questions (Math and verbal) for each company (or other) to see of it tests you weakness.

I'd stay away from Hult. Everything about them screams "PROFITS PLEASE!!!"
I worked in their Head office in Sloane Square, London.
The structure is as follows: huge telemarketing department split into countries - UK, Spain, Netherlands, France, etc. Telemarketing arguably their biggest department. Says alot.

They would hire an English speaker to deal with UK, a Spanish speaker to deal with Spain, etc.
Each day, these 'Student recruiters' are issued an excel list thats drawn from the system pool.
This system pool is accumulated through a variety of different sources, Google Adworks, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.
If you've entered the words 'MBA' into Google or signed up for GMAT, it is likely Hult has bought your details from one of these sources.

These recruiters work for 'interviews', which essentially means they cold call these lists all day every day, and use a script to entice you to book an 'interview' with a more senior recruiter.
Its the classic 'foot in the door' technique.
I worked there for over a year and I would wholeheartedly agree with comments that their marketing team are fantastic.
They arrange high profile events in top london locations in order to attract students - probably because their MBA's are close to £50,000.

Recruiters are trained how to deal with queries relating to how they are either unranked or very low in the ranks.

If you've received a call or an offer, don't get too excited.
Everyone gets an offer.
Sorry to burst your excitement bubble peeps - having read the entire thread, i thought it would be useful to hear from someone who's worked in their head office.
