Hello,
I am from India and am about to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. My profile is as follows:
1) Undergraduate CPA 3.7/4 (After conversion from 8.8/10) from a reputed university.
2) Student Brand Manager for Red Bull India.
3) A part of the college Entrepreneurship Development Cell for 4 yours as Volunteer, coordinator, president, and special advisor.
4) Have volunteered in several community service events and was also the Community Service director for a Rotaract Club.
5) Have completed two summer internships with two upcoming Tech-based startups and one 4 months academic internship at Fiat and Chrysler Automotives.
6) Scored 720(Q-49, V-38, IR-6, AWA-5) in GMAT in my second attempt.
7) I also know the basics of computer programming in Python and have completed an online specialization in data analytics.
Initially, my plan was to work for some years and then pursue an MBA from a reputed institute, but due to the COVID situation, the job opportunities in my industry are getting worse by the day. Hence, I have changed my plans and have decided to pursue a masters degree in management since:
1) It's better to complete my masters in these bad times than to work in a job profile which I don't like.
2) Master's has a much lower investment and there'll be a much lesser economic burden on me after I graduate.
3) A master's degree will equip me with the necessary skills to secure a good job since, by the time I graduate, the pandemic situation will have settled down.
I am confused about whether I should pursue the MiM degree or a specialized Masters such as Masters in Data/Business Analytics?
I really need some guidance as to how to select the right program in terms of future job opportunities and growth prospects. How does a specialized master's compare with MiM?
