Just get this test score out of your mind. One bad score should not define the efforts you have put in. You have been getting good scores in mock. So just try to stay calm for the next 4 days. You can give one more mock before the main exam but make sure you write it in exam conditions. Otherwise just relax yourself by watching a good movie or reading a book and in between just work on few questions.

You pretty much answered your own question.

You got the 1st, 3rd and 8th wrong in the first 10. Getting the first wrong in particular is a caridnal sin.

The GMAT then thinks your caliber is quite low and you further proved it by getting the third wrong.

Try not to get these wrong and it'll be good again. Your range should be somewhere in low 700s.

Take it one question at a time and give it your all each and every question. I know it sounds too basic and simple but that's the goal - get to that point with 100% focus on each question. Moving methodically and choreographed.

Good luck!

I just got defeated today - no words to explain it more

ended up with 630 q-49 v -27

Dont know how to rise up from here . After preparing so much , this score is like a punch in my stomach .
Where Maths was pretty doable , i really cant comment on verbal what went wrong. CR was way too weird to understand .

Was this the real thing? What company's test did you use?

Dont view this as a failure. View this as an oppurtunity to learn.

For CR - if that is your weak point - then you have to conquer it by really understanding what is going on in each question. Knowing what the right answer is is not sufficient. You also need to develop a strong understanding of why the wrong questions are wrong.

You can pay to cancel this score within 24 hours of the exam and take it again up to 5 times within a calendar year. I would strongly advise this strategy.

Yep agreed. Cancel it your unhappy with the score.

Also remember a LOT of peopel will not get thier target score on the first try.

I gave it 3 times. First time 680, second 660, third 750.

But I wrote these tests in quick succession as I didnt want to give up on the momentum.

Looks like your practice scores were high so I beleive you do have the potential to get up in the 700s.

Order the ESR report and dig into what happened. You need to target your weaknesses and make them your strengths.

Take a look at this link - I found Rahul's post very helpful in getting back up and understanding my flaws.

Wrote one after another with a span of 16-17 days in the middle.

I was getting a score over 740 in practice though so I knew the only thing that was messing me up was pressure. By the third time the pressure was non existent and I did well.

This might not be your case - so definitely dont do what I did if you have problems with the material.

Pressure works different than knowing the material.

Got my ESR report . Shocked by the verbal performance
CR:- 15 percentile ( Raw : 16 )
RC : 76 percentile ( Raw : 36 )
SC : 50 percentile ( Raw : 27 )

I was more scared for RC all the time but looks like i didnt do any question correct on CR or may be 1.

Attached snapshots.

Verbal Summary: -

Your Verbal score of 27 is higher than 47% of GMAT Exam scores recorded in the past three years. The mean score for this section is 26.8.
Your performance on Critical Reasoning questions was equivalent to a score of 16, which is better than 15% of GMAT Exam scores recorded in the past three years. The mean score for this sub-section is 27.61.
Your performance on Reading Comprehension questions was equivalent to a score of 36, which is better than 76% of GMAT Exam scores recorded in the past three years. The mean score for this sub-section is 27.32.
Your performance on Sentence Correction questions was equivalent to a score of 28, which is better than 50% of GMAT Exam scores recorded in the past three years. The mean score for this sub-section is 27.21.
You completed 41 of the 41 questions in the Verbal section.
You responded correctly to 75% of the first set of questions, 57% of the second set of questions, 43% of the third set of questions and 50% of the final set of questions.
The average difficulty of questions presented to you in the first set of questions was Medium, the average for the second set of questions was Medium , the average for the third set of questions was Medium and was Medium for the final set of questions.
The average time it took you to respond to the first set of questions presented was 1:59, the average time for the second set of questions was 2:24, the average time for the third set of questions was 1:48 and 1:17 for the final set of questions.

I am guessing CR screwed me up badly and it was the middle section that hampered my score all together . If any one has any perspective on this please comment.
