(B) Hunted for their decent size and succulent meat, wildebeests range from 420 to 1,210 pounds, who are--- Wrong, usage of who is wrong and meaning error---it now means wildbeast ranger from , instead actual mean is in terms of their meat which range from 420 to 1210

The best/excellent answers get kudos, which will be awarded after the answer is revealed.
There may be no best/excellent answers, or a there may be a few excellent answers!

IMO option E is correct.

Options A & C incorrectly state that the meat of these animals ranges between 420 to 1200 lbs. It is the size of the animal itself that can have such a measurement/range. B and D incorrectly add in "who are" which is grammatically wrong.

This SC question is all about meaning :)

We can directly eliminate answer A, B and D.

Only C and E left.

Answer E is correct because the meat cannot range, only the descent size can. ''which'' modifies ''decent size''.

Answer E.

What does range from 420 to 1210 pounds? I'm in doubt, but the constructions that modify wildebeests with this information do not connect perfectly "who are" with the non-underlined portion of the sentence, because "who are" cannot modify things but just people or beings. So I rule out B and D.

In C it is not clear if "ranging from...to...." modifies wildebeests or meat, so I rule out this too.

In E, "ranging from...to..." modifies "decent size", and it is illogical to express a size in terms of weight.

A is the correct one in my opion

(A) Hunted for their decent size and succulent meat, which ranges from 420 to 1,210 pounds, wildebeests are

As you can see, you can easily eliminate the modifier between the two points and the sentence would make sense anyway.

"Hunted for their decent size and succulent meat, wildebeests are the most popular prey for lions in the wild."

"which" can modify just the term right before it and only if the term is a thing, so it perfectly targets meat.

Succelent meat means juicy , tender meat.the author is not talking about the weight/quantitt of meat here.
The Range 420-1210 lbs should modify decent size of the wild beasts. So option A and C are out.
Options B and D incorrectly use who are to modify Pounds.

Option E is correct in every Aspect.

IMO E

A) Incorrect. 'which ranges' describes succulent meat instead of decent size.

B) Incorrect. who is modifying pounds. Also, the sentence is wordy and potrays illogical meaning.

C) Incorrect. 'ranging from' describes succulent meat instead of decent size.

D) Incorrect. who is modifying pounds.

E) Correct. 'Which' correctly modifies 'decent size'. clause prior to wildbeets correctly describes wildbeets.

Please give Kudos if you like my response. :)

Official Explanation :

As currently written, from 420 to 1,210 pounds describe the size, so the position of the phrase next to the word meat is incorrect. Therefore, eliminate (A) and (C), which repeats the error.

Choice (B) has the pronoun who. Since, who can only be used to refer to people, this pronoun does not agree with wildebeests. So eliminate (B).

Choice (D) also contains who, so eliminate this answer as well.

Choice (E) positions from 420 to 1,210 pounds next to the word size, and makes no other errors, so this answer choice is correct.

Why cannot I consider option A?
We can assume that meat weighs from 420 to 1210 pounds right?
