Email from Sales Manager at C&C Pharmaceuticals to Head Pharmacist at Healthy Hope Hospital May 11, 12:30 p.m.
I discussed your bulk order of 20000, 100mg tablets Hex-D (Hypertensive drug), 15000, 50mg capsules of Dib-LX (Anti-Diabetic drug) and 20000 100mg tablets of Beta-KL (Cholesterol lowering drug) with the manufacturing team. The first two drugs are in stock, but we are short of 10000, 100 mg Beta-KL tablets. However, we have 20000, 50mg Beta-KL tablets in stock. Would you like me to change your order for Beta-KL tablets to 10000 100mg tablets and 20000 50mg tablets?
The manufacturing team also informed that a new version Hex-DX of the hypertensive drug Hex-D is available. You can pre-order the new drug, but there will be a delay of two weeks. Do you want me to change the order for 10000, 100mg Hex-D tablets to 10000, 100 mg Hex-DX tablets?
The current prices of drugs of a single dose are as follows:

A lot of confusion in the calculation of discount on Beta-KL drugs has arised due to the following lines:
1. We will be happy to give you 10000, 100mg and 20000, 50mg Beta-KL tablets at the price of 20000, 100mg units with bulk discount on 20000 units.
(A discount of 10% on the price of 20000 , 100mg Beta-KL)
2. For example, for your order of the Beta-KL drugs, there will be 5% discount on 10000 units of 100mg Beta-KL and 10% discount on 20000 units of 50mg Beta-KL.
(A discount of 5% on 10000,100mg Beta-KL + A discount of 10% on 20000, 50mg Beta-KL)

1. Beta-KL = {0.8*20,000}*90% = $14,400 (at the price of 20,000, 100mg units; with bulk discount on 20,000 units => a discount of 10% on the whole order)
2. Hex-D & Hex-DX = {(0.6+0.75)*10,000}*87% = $11,745 (at a total discount of 13% on the whole order)
3. Dib-LX = {0.7*15,000}*95% = $9,975 (at a discount of 5% because 15,000 is more than 10,000 & less than 20,000)
Total = $36,120
Therefore (E), the closest option.
