If 25% of the company's employees contribute at least 4% of their salary to the Charity Fund, what percent of the company's employees contribute at least 5% of their salary to the Charity Fund?

(1) 20% of the company's employees contribute at least 4% but less than 5% of their salary to the Charity Fund
(2) 95% of the company's employees contribute less than 5% of their salary to the Charity Fund.

Can somebody explain how is statement 2 sufficient?? Arent we assuming that all employees must contribute, as the question doesnt specify any such condition., when we consider statement 2 as sufficient.

Can anybody please explain the point made by sunaimshadmani? Why can we assume that ALL employees must contribute, as the question DOESNOT specify that.

Thanks

Those who don't contribute fall into x%, which contributed less than 4% (0% < 4%).

Let no. of employees = 100

A) 20 employees contribute between 4%-5%, in the question stem, 25 contribute at least 4% => rest 5 must contribute at least 5% -- Sufficient.

B) 95 employees contribute less than 5%, rest 5 must be contributing at least 5% -- Sufficient

Hence, answer is D

Great Question!!!

It is perfect example of set and subset;

Atleast 4% is the like set - 25% and atleast 5% charity donated is subset within 25% which can be inferred from both statement 1 and 2
