(1) is not sufficient

we just need to test a=-2 , b=1 and a=1 , b=2 to confirm

(2) only tells us that a and b have the same signal, which is not sufficient

(1) and (2) are sufficient

In my opinion, the correct answer is C

PS: this is my first time here. I apologize in advance for any mistake I may have made

Hi Welcome the answer is E...Let me explain why...

when you combine 2 statements together..it says a*b > 0 and b>a which means both a and b should be positive or negative

now i take a=1 , b=2 which is a/b = 0.5 ..it lies between -1 and +1

now i take a=-2 , b= -1 remember -1 is greater than -2 ...means b>a now if you divide it is 2...so out of range of -1<a/b<+1

One case Yes and the other case NO

so it is E...

hope it helps
