target is a+b+c even
#1
(a + b + c)/2 is an integer
sum has to be even sufficient

#2
a = b/2 = c/3
since b/2 b will be even
if a=c is odd then also target is sufficient or
if a=c is even then also target is sufficient
option D

Bunuel
If a, b and c are positive integers, is a + b + c even?

(1) (a + b + c)/2 is an integer.

(2) a = b/2 = c/3

[quote="Bunuel"]If a, b and c are positive integers, is a + b + c even?

(1) (a + b + c)/2 is an integer.

(2) a = b/2 = c/3

Statement (1) shows that a+b+c = even

Statement (2) shows that a ,b, and c are in the ratio 1,2 and 3 respectively.

1+2+3 = 6. The minimum values of a, b and c are 1, 2 and 3. The minimum sum is 6.

The sum of a+b+c will be in multiples of 6 which is even. Therefore Statement (2) is also sufficient.

Therefore, the answer is option D.
