Admissions to IIM Calcutta PGPEX program is now open for 2014-2015.
Also, PGPExplain event has been organized in 5 cities on 13th July -

The PGPExplain is an information session conducted by IIM Calcutta to reach out to all aspiring candidates for its PGPEX program. The event provides a platform for direct interaction between PGPEX candidates and the faculty and alumni of IIM Calcutta.

Cities are - Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, on 13th July 2013 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

What are the essays/questions we need to answer for the application, can someone please put them here? I am new to the application process and will appreciate if someone can put the entire application process for IIM C here.

Hi Palls20,

In addition to the statement of purpose, you need to write the following essays.

1) Give detailed descriptions of three activities you performed in your workplace in the last five years which will help us assess your abilities and strengths. Use extra sheets if necessary.

2) Narrate an important/unusual incident of your life when you had to face a very demanding/challenging situation. How did you overcome the situation? What lessons did you learn from this incident? Use extra sheets if necessary.

Re-applicants need to write one more essay. What are the changes in your profile vis-à-vis previous year’s?

If required, you can also write an optional essay to highlight anything else you would like in support of your application.

Hi Guys ,

My GMAT score is 680 (Q48,V35)
10th - 84%
12th - 82.2 %
Engg in Comp Sc - 76.3 %
Work Ex - 5 years ( 2 years in UK)
IT background

Should I be even thinking of applying for IIM-C???? I dont think I want to take my GMAT again now as 680 is sort of hanging in the balance b/n an average score and a good score.

Please advise.

Hi Lifzgud,

The average GMAT score for PGPEX program in 705 for current batch. However, i think that the B-schools have an holistic approach while evaluating the application. They look at your your work experience, extra curricular etc....So i would suggest that do not think only about your GMAT score...you may have something to balance. At the same time, i would also say that a higher GMAT score is always an advantage.

I agree but for IIM C, its not the case. IIM C is totally GMAT focussed. You can check the previous threads of IIM C.

Archit, It's not true that IIMC PGPEX is totally GMAT focused. That is more correct about IIMA & ISB. As i mentioned, they look at your entire profile. GMAT score is a part of it.
