The questions are not only similar but exactly the same. Just changing 'international-domestic' to 'females-male's does not change anything as far as quant is concerned.

Question is being merged.

taking the statements directly

(1) Of those who received a B, 40 percent were international.

so International students who got B grade = 40% but no data for grade A and C students.

[b]-Insufficient

(2) Of those who received either an A or C, 60 percent were domestic.

International students who got wither A or C = 40% (100%-60%) as domestic are 60%, but no data about grade B

- Insufficient

(1)+(2) = tells us about the international students for grade A,B,C as 40%, so Sufficient

In a class, each of the students received a single grade of A, B, or C.What percent of the students in the class were internationals?

(1) Of those who received a B, 40 percent were international.
(1) Of those who received either an A or C, 60 percent were domestic.

So, the students are divided into two categories - D and I
Let A, B and C be the numbers of the students who received a single grade of A, B, and C respectively.

We are finding \(\frac{I}{A+B+C}\)

(1) Of those who received a B, 40 percent were international.
So 0.4B are I.

(2) Of those who received either an A or C, 60 percent were domestic.
so 0.6(A+C) are domestic, and, therefore, remaining or (1-0.6)(A+C) or 0.4(A+B+C) are I.

Combined
Total I = 0.4B+0.4(A+C)=0.4(A+B+C)
Total students = A+B+C

% of I =\( \frac{0.4(A+B+C)}{A+B+C}*100=40\)
Suff

C
