GMATinsight Did not quite understand how the % of total Mechanical Engineers would fall between 0.25 <x< 0.30.

Could you please explain? I believe this is a fundamental concept, so would appreciate if you could please provide the concept as well.

Hi Payal259 ,

It's a simple rule of mixtures that if a 10% and 20% alcohol solutions are mixed than resultant will have alcohol percentage between 10% and 20% depending upon the quantities

Similarly 25% of Men and 30% of women can form only a 25 to 30% of entire population (Men + women)
