Hi,

Could anyone here help me with the following queries, your responses will be much appreciated!!!

1. Am wondering if the word limit is to be strictly followed- the step by step application guide by INSEAD does say that 10% +/- is allowed in the essays. Could anyone help with this?
2. Also for the LoR, is there a word limit at all? Could someone help as am not sure if the word limit exists for the LoR.
3. Also, for the job essays, the step by step application guide says, 3 lines or 20 lines, whatever works, should be used. Anyone here can help with the word limit in this case?

Thanks in advance!

Hi sdheri,

please, see below.

1. Am wondering if the word limit is to be strictly followed- the step by step application guide by INSEAD does say that 10% +/- is allowed in the essays. Could anyone help with this?

The INSEAD application no longer allows to go over the word count limit. So it is strict.

2. Also for the LoR, is there a word limit at all? Could someone help as am not sure if the word limit exists for the LoR.

No, there is no word count limit.

3. Also, for the job essays, the step by step application guide says, 3 lines or 20 lines, whatever works, should be used. Anyone here can help with the word limit in this case?

There is no word count limit on the job essays. Rule of thumb is to stay somewhere between 250 and 300 words. However, you can go over if needed. I have seen essays of about 500 words from admitted applicants. Therefore, just focus on content rather than length.

Typically, job essay #1 and #2 are "shorter", and #3 and #4 are "longer".

I hope this helps.

Good luck!
Alex

Agree with everything Alex says above. They used to allow 10% over for motivation essays but changed it this January, and have not yet updated everything to reflect the new policy. Do not go over a single word.

Many thanks guys!

Have a quick query on the video interview as well:

I want to know, if I submit my application by say 10th of June, I have until 22nd of June to submit the Video interview? Is that the correct understanding?

Request if you could clarify this for me. Would be grateful.

Cheers

Hi sdheri,

yeah, that is correct. If you submit your application before the June 20th deadline, you will have up to 48 hours after the deadline (i.e. June 22nd) to complete the video interviews.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Hey guys, I applied to INSEAD for 2019 Jan R2. The deadline to know about the interview is June 8th. Does INSEAD let you know even if one is not selected for the interview? I’m just wondering if it’s normal that deadline is three days away and still haven’t heard from them.

Thanks
Tarun

tarun2040 yes of course they do. That would be pretty inhumane otherwise. After the invites are out there is generally an email to let you know if you've not been selected. INSEAD takes the full amount of to get all the invites out, has been my experience. I think we will see a lot happening today and tomorrow.

Thank you so much MBAPrepCoach for such prompt reply. Needless to say, the wait is killing me. My admissions consultant has told me that my essays are air-tight and the holistic view of the profile would at least get me an interview. Hopefully good news is in order in the next 3 days. Good luck to everyone else in the race.
