Ligett - you say you got the confirmation? When did you send in your application? Anyone else got a 'application package complete mail'? Should I be worried?
Also, my documents reached them on 29th early morning instead of 28th morning as promised by Fed Ex. Think it will be a problem?

I think I'm beginning to become a nervous wreck. Anyone else with me? :-)

I don't think there will be a problem for you because of the late arrival. They sure are strict, but that would be really over the top :)

I submitted my package on July 27th late night European time. Got a full package notification on July-30th.

A question to guru: is there a way to figure out how many applications were submitted in R3?

Regards

thanks Ligett!

I should have got a confirmation by now. But nothing yet :-(
yep - it would be nice to know how many applicants and the profiles. but based on lack of activity on so many forums, maybe the number is low?

got my interviewers' contact info today.

I have started to panic since then....

if it goes wrong......

gosh.......

Relax. Do prepare well based on the questions listed above + clearadmit's website, but don't stress out. INSEAD interviews are quite relaxed, cause they're with Alumni (very relaxed in comparison to my HBS interview, the only interview I can compare with). Typically no tricky questions (like you get from adcom interviewers), interviewers do show emotion and you'll know whether they like you or not (contrary to adcom interviews). It's more of a conversational chat than a real 'grilling' interview, where they mostly try to find out whether you (1) are the same guy that wrote the application (2) are a nice, smart person that wants to go to INSEAD (remember, those people studied there and are proud of their school - they want to see that you would love to go there) and (3) whether you are not only good on paper, but are able to have a decent conversation with a senior executive.

That's a great advice from Suker. Thank you so much

I've just got the interviewers' details and now waiting for their response. I am wondering if it will be alright if I send the interviewers only some of my essays. Will it be taken as not sincere?? My reason is that I only want to focus on certain aspects. Any advice??
They clearly state that you can either send your CV or the first 6 pages of your application.
Furthermore, I've heard that the interviewers were instructed not to read into the essays

No. Either send the first six pages only or the whole package. Otherwise, it will be taken as if you are trying to hide something. Interviewers are as important as any other member of admission committee. If you can share some information with adcom, you should be able to share it with interviewers as well.

I had the same issue in R1. My supporting documents which were couriered reach few days later . But I had no issues, as I had updated my admissions coordinator that I have already couriered the relevant supporting documents to her.

So dont worry. Its not an issue at all. Just send a follow up email to your coordinator and confirm with her if your file is complete. And hopefully you will get the file complete msg soon.

Hello all!

Another R3 applicant here. The admit figures seem pretty disheartening for a R3 applicant. and on top of that, the WL candidates are getting the thumbs up too. sighh! don't know if I should be reading too much into that.

Pixie & ligett -- try PM'ing HankScorpio for access to his INSEAD January 2011 intake Google spreadsheet, which contains profiles and admission status for anyone who has asked to be included. It's a great resource!

Question around sending package in mail:

In case someone asks for transcripts to be sent directly by his undergrad university and GMAT score to be reported directly by GMAC to INSEAD, is there anything else that needs to be directly submitted by mail/courier? Am I missing something?

I don't think there is anything else, and I certainly hope not!

I sent the same two things directly and am yet to receive a notification for complete application package.

I received my "full package confirmation" receipt on Friday June 30th from Carol Theresa.

I would've imagined a slightly uneven balance between the 3 rounds. Something like 200 for R1 & R2 and 100 for R3. It wouldn't make sense of them to hold out an equal number of seats till the end either hoping for enough quality applicants in R3 or that the waitlisted candidates would wait that long to find out. That said, it's a little disheartening if they've already filled out 300 seats from R1 itself.

Anyways, fingers are crossed and hope for the best for all R3 applicants.

good luck!

not to nit-pick, but i think the last post from someone with access to the MBAConnect said there were 221 admitted students so far, not 300. i only mention it because it's a big enough difference to change how i feel about the news (i.e. less towards the "oh no" side of the spectrum and more towards the "hm, tough but doable still" side)

Hi Careerchange! Do you mean June or July 30th?
Also, could you please share when you submitted your application and what part of the world you are based in?

Thanks!

I submitted it on July 28th, wee hours of the morning from NYC (USA) and I received my confirmation on July 30th from Carol Theresa that the information packet was complete. I did send in my transcripts etc earlier and tracked it through FedEx.

Btw, I've moved my app to Round 1 for Sept 2011. So I'm no more in the running here! (good riddance for this thread right??!! ;-) )
Good luck to alll! and

Good luck with the R1 application!
