Hey guys!

I am back in the race! Got a 700 on the GMAT today with Q47 so I think I will just be waiting for an R3 interview now.

Congrats gr8tWo! Good to have you back.

And all, how is it going? I'm done with my interviews. The first one was a little tough, lasted for 2.5 hrs. In the end, the alumnus said that he's not sure if I need an MBA. The second one went pretty well, and got over in 45 minutes. Now the wait begins. Do the ding/WL/accepted calls start coming in a few days before the deadline?

Thanks for this!

Looks like a winner, not sure how you got to it. I don't have any links that take me there, even through my online application page.

For me, it was in the same mail which contained the contact details of the two interviewers.
Good luck!

Hi folks,
I'm feeling a little silly asking this, but after received my interviewers' details and checking the forum, I have been reviewing all the emails from INSEAD, the website, and the online download center. I can't for the life of me find anything called the "Interview form". My email instructs me to print and fax the first 6 pages....
Can anyone shed some light on this?[/quote]

The interview form they sent out was actually meant to be used for R3 candidates but they mistakenly sent it out to some R2 candidates - my coordinator emailed me back saying this and asked me to instead just print the first six pages or send the entire app.

Dont feel silly :)

Folks, I'm seeing on INSEAD previous threads a count of the MBA accepted candidates taken from MBAconnect!
what is this MBAconnect? Is it accessible? Is it the real count?

Could we have the actual count if possible with nb per nationalities?

Such a count could be very refreshing for our J12 forum for now, as there is some silence over here!
I guess we're crossing the silence coming before the storm! still we have a long wait before the admissions storm

Hey All ,

I had both my Interviews yesterday ..

First one , was pretty straight and lasted for about 30 mins . Very traditional questions - Why MBA ? Why INSEAD ? Why Now ?
He walked over my resume and asked about me why I chose this field .. About my career choice , my preferred work place after MBA ... It was real good but I found him extremely comfortable and understanding . At the end he asked me if I had some questions and I asked lot of them -
His profile , his MBA experience , campus choice , current career and about financing INSEAD MBA .. All in all a gud one .. he was an absolute professional !!

My second interviewer was a lady who was real tough .. She kept me waiting for about 35 mins ... She drilled down each and every aspect of my resume from my technical skills to my sports activities . I had hard tym explaining her things . It lasted for about 1.5 hrs .. She dint even offer me asking questions to her .. She had very unusual questions like how do I link my current career to my future career choice , How I got interested into it ?

I could not gauge what both of them had in their minds at the end .. Jus keeping my fingers crossed now for the interviews

That would be interesting. This late (R3) they are probably just filling out the class so if they already have a bunch of X then they probably won't want anymore. That said, it's all just waiting for now. Only 2 applicants for R3 as per the spreadsheet someone posted above?

MBAConnect is the INSEAD portal you get access to once you are accepted to the program. There is ton of information regarding housing, visa, fees and languages etc. Also a bulletin board to organize events and sell/buy stuff. And there is the directory, which keeps building as each person who gets accepted registers. So at the moment all the R1 applicants for 12D batch who got accepted are on the directory. The current numbers are below -

MBAConnect numbers for 12D

Total 285
Indian 40
American 37
French 19
Canadian 19
Chinese 15
British 14
Russian 7

Take this with a grain of salt though. Not everyone who registers on MBAConnect plans to attend INSEAD, since you get the access before you send in the deposit.

I read somewhere in a previous blog that R1 intake is around 250-260, R2 is around 180 and R3 is around 80...with each nationality not representing more than 10% of the total class size and historical data confirms that no of Indians in the last 3-4 classes at INSEAD have been varying between 55-60...Assuming this will be the trend for Jan'12 or 12D intake as well, it becomes a matter of serious concern for the Indian applicants( myself included) as 40 Indians are already on the list..we are fighting for around 10-12 odd positions which is not healthy in any sense...Anyone would like to correct me???

Notwithstanding that , keep up the spirit guys and hope for the best....Cheers

I don't think the 10% cap is cast in stone. Its just a guideline. 55-60 Indians - either end of the spectrum - is already probably above the 10% nationality cap; I haven't looked at the number of Indians in prior batches but won't be surprised if the no was 65 or 67 and not 60 in the odd year. If you are thinking of applying R3 then just go ahead and do so. Don't read too much into the numbers here and get discouraged. Worst case, even if INSEAD doesn't work out for what ever reason you would have some refined material to access for your other essays if you are applying to other schools.

On a separate note, like some of those above, I too finished the last of my interviews this week. Both were with pleasant, easy-going individuals and not the aggro types and it wasn't like a carrot and stick set up between the 2 like how I've read some INSEAD interviews can be. The questions were all mostly the usual suspects. The only one that wasn't was - and a bit tricky: What do you think is the difference between a leader and a manager? The second interviewer had attended INSEAD 20 years ago. Ha she told me there was 1 Indian in her batch back then! Things have changed a little in the last 2 decades.

Read about that, but applied nonetheless.
I'm hoping (times a million!)
