Tell me a country and I can tell you how many are there. Middle East has quite a few countries.
Regarding the other questions, I'll try to give my reasoning as much as possible.
1. Yes, 285 is far north of half the class size. But I know several people who have decided to head to LBS or IMD or IESE. One person even decided to go to Ross instead of INSEAD. So these numbers are definitely bloated. They haven't taken anyone off yet. So I am guessing that the clean up will happen either just before R2 results are out, or when the 2nd installment is due in November.
Also, massive issue with R1 admits right now is getting the funding. I am guessing that might put some people out of the game as well. This brings me to the second point.
2. Yes, there are 40 Indians admitted already. And in the past few batches the number has ranged from 50 to 60. Never more. But again, some of these might not be going to INSEAD. I am finding funding to be the single most problematic issue for Indians. Loans in India have very high rate of interests and even
Prodigy is rejecting many Indian applicants for loans. Reasons as yet seem unclear.
So given all that, I'll scale the 285 number down to around 220-240. Not more than that. A high percentage of dropouts will probably be Indians. This is my opinion and gut feel, nothing official from INSEAD.
