Hi All,

Is it mandatory for an applicant to have those minimum GMAT Q & V percentiles (as mentioned on their website) to be eligible for admission rounds?

The INSEAD website says, "While we do not have a minimum score required for admission, we advise candidates to aim for a score at or above the 70-75th percentile for both the quantitative and verbal sections of the GMAT ."

I do not have a verbal score that lies in the specified range and hence a bit worried. Does anyone know of any candidate who made it to the interview list even with a low GMAT score?

Thanks!

I guess it also depends on how many times you took the GMAT and failed to meet the advised percentiles?

Hi AnarchyzChild,

could you please check the number of Italians?

Thank you!

14 Italians. Figuring out the gender stuff for each nationality takes a longer time, and I am usually fairly busy. :) So I am going to decline doing that. But as a thumb rule keep 33% of admits as women and by and large that is how it is reflected in individual nationalities also.

Regarding the Q and V. It will be tough to get an interview with lower percentile, and tougher to get admitted. But it has happened. I also know of one case where the individual was asked to improve their Q percentile and reapply. So its on a case to case basis. If you can show that you got all As in your undergrad Math courses and a high GPA, then the Q percentile becomes less important.

I do not know someone who did make it but I do know of someone that did not make it. They are definitely very strict about the quantitative 70-75 percentile (personal experience). But I do not see why they would not be about the verbal. I mean if you have a 68% then maybe with a strong profile overall and good quant that gets you in the 700 range then it might be ok. But if you are around the 50-60% then if you have a strong profile overall I would expect a rejection letter saying "Do not see this as a rejection but rather as encouragement to improve on your verbal score. The INSEAD MBA is a very demanding course which requires excellent verbal abilities to be able to keep up with the workload. When you get a 70-75% verbal please let us know."

If you have already submitted an application I would advise you retook the GMAT asap and send them your improved score before they reply. If they do reply before you send them the new score you are off to the next round (if you have applied in R1 or R2) or new intake in the case of R3.

Hi everyone, I'm a round 2 applicant for the Jan '12 session. Just wanted to know how everyone is approaching the scholarship essays? Makes it harder when you haven't been admitted.

I am curious to know: has there been any movement in the waitlist ? Because the other thread is dead with no sign of change. There should have been some change though by now ?

No problem! I was just asking in case it was easy... thank you so much for all the info!

Folks,
Anybody knows when the due date of the 5000€ 1st payment is for R1 applicants...
Isn't 1 month after the admission (24 Jun for R1)! Anarchyzchild could tell us maybe!
If it expired as I think, we should have now the right nb of the students after the drop on MBA connect!

Hi AnarchyzChild

Do you think you can post the latest total admits with the various country breakdowns, including Singapore? Will be most helpful to many during this tense period of interviews and waits.

Thanks!

The count hasn't changed since the last time I posted them. Just go back a page or two and the info is there. The counts will start changing when the admits start going out. So we have some time until things change on MBAConnect.

R2 applicant here. I've completed the two interviews. Neither interviewer had anything in common with my background nor my post-MBA aspirations, which I found odd.

Both interviews were very laid back and conversational and were completely focused on INSEAD, my interest in the school and how I felt the program would help me achieve my goals. Neither one tested me on my other two languages. There weren't any questions that dug in depth into my work history. No questions such as, "tell me about a time when you exhibited leadership," or "when have you had a difficult time dealing with a coworker and how did you handle it?"

I way overprepared for the interviews, which is a better problem than underpreparing, especially since there seems to be quite a bit of variability in style.

Now it's just time to play the waiting game.

Best of Luck! The questions vary from interviewer to interviewer. I know people who were asked the type of questions you cannot even imagine :D. Anyways it is always better to prepare for the worst.
