Revisiting this site after a long while, and, what a coincidence, it is the day that INSEAD sends its last moment interview invites. Those still waiting, do not despair. I received my invitation at 6.00pm France time and then also got accepted. So no news is not necessarily bad news.

CPetran,
Very kind of you to drop a note for all still awaiting calls. I was wondering if you could be kind enough provide your interview experiences like how long did you prepare, what you prepared for, what are the typical questions asked and any other insights for everyone's benefit. Thanks.

Hi artectonic, have a quick look on my post on page 3 and you will get an answer to your question!
Cheers, C

I think I know the answer, but will ask anyway. How quickly does the committee decide on your application after the interviews?

I received the invitation to interview a bit over a week ago, and both of my interviewers wanted to meet right away. I'm already done. I wonder if I have to wait full six weeks for a decision, which seems excessive. Does the Adcom wait for all candidates from your particular pool (nationality, background, etc) to complete the interviews and compare you against the other candidates in your group?

Good luck to all.

Hi All -

Wondering if one of you guys can help me out here. I have a MacBook, and while filling in the app I'm unable to "save" the file. I'm also unable to generate the recommendation links. Did anyone face this problem, and if so, how can I go about fixing it?

Also would be good to know where all the other R2 candidates are right now. Have you completed your essays yet?

Thanks.

I submitted R2 for Jan 2012. Couldnt get it in on time for R1 but had worked on the essays etc from earlier this year.

I use a Macbook Pro and didn't encounter problems saving, generating recommendation links etc. on Adobe Acrobat Reader X (I think its version 9; its free). I did encounter some problems upon hitting submit through which was a bit disconcerting. Adobe stopped responding and went into a stupor... I had to force quit. But upon checking the status of application link I found everything had been submitted and received an app uploaded email from INSEAD. Not received the app complete email yet though. Maybe once the R1 invites etc all go out they will start dealing with R2...

i did my application on a macbook too, so the computer should not be the problem....i think your application file might be corrupted. email the technical help contact provided in the application form. they are pretty good about responding and fixing quickly

i think almost everybody had the heart stopping moment after hitting submit....i know i did...there is something weird about the submit process, but i dont think it is because of a mac/something other computer thing

ok thanks summitbid.. good to know i wasnt the only one then...

gmhdxb - download adobe and complete the form. now that i think back i think i wasnt able to use the inbuilt mac os x pdf preview app to complete the form as some of the fields weren't showing properly

The FAQs have 1 question devoted to this:

Q8: I have a Mac and downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7.0 but am still having problems downloading the MBA application file. Could you help me?
A8: Please make sure to open the application file directly from within Acrobat Reader 7.0 - if you double-click on a PDF in Mac OS X, chances are that it will be open via Preview.app, which does not support sophisticated PDF files like the INSEAD application.

Thanks MBAji. Opening the file through Adobe Acrobat solved the problem!

Hi Guys

I just discovered this forum. I'd like to be added to the roll call as well. I am a Round 1 applicant, got an email from SH on May 4th, and the alumni details on May 6th. Still working on setting up the interviews. :)

My profile M/27/Indian/720/6.5 years WE (4 in US, 1.5 in Europe, 1 in India)/High tech R&D - Director of Engineering/Currently in Bangalore, India/ BS, MS in Computer Engineering from US.

Any clue about how many applicants get interview calls? And what percentage get accepted?

Hi there,

Here is how it works: the sooner you get your interview done the sooner they will decide for sure. The way it work, is that the adcom meets regularily with a batch of completed application. And for each batch, people are admitted or denied...
So I don't know how often they meet, but you will probably hear from them before the deadline given on the website :)

Thanks, sloanguy.

I was asked the usual questions:
why MBA?
why now?
why INSEAD?
walk me through your story, what's your plan?
what are you weaknesses/strengths?

Nothing surprising. Both alumni were, expectedly, accomplished and nice.

good luck to all.

I was pretty proactive about getting in touch with my interviewers. Emails every other day, until they responded. Of course I have no idea how that impacts their reviews of me, but I had pleasant interviews with both of them. Good luck.

Hi there,
I have got invitation on Friday and nothing arrived me regarding alumni info.
Can anybody compare the alumni meetings of Insead with another business school's practice? How does the content differs, average time, challenge level etc.?
Does insead differentiate its view to the alumni feedback anyhow?
