I got the invitation on Friday morning (French time) and got the interviewer details yesterday morning from SH. It was however earlier than expected as she had told me that she would send me the details by middle of this week.

I got my interview invite on Wednesday and the details of my interviewers by Thursday. I guess it all depends on how long it takes them to find suitable alumnus in your area. From what I understand Insead try to pair you up with one person who has a similar background and another who's background is very different.

Yip there is no requirement to attach the photo to the pdf document. Once you submit the pdf you'll gain access to the application portal. There is a section on this site that enables you to upload a photo. Hope that helps

don't have too many windows open though (may be that will help, i dont know)... I was uploading the photograph (through netapply or some similar sounding name - which I think is the site managing all the uploads for insead) after cropping it and my browser gave me a message: this website may be harmful to your computer or something like that... and then the browser just shut down... i thought i would it have to do it again but the insead status page says its been uploaded... had issues with the pdf submission as well (understand lots of other ppl did as well)... there are kinks in the uploading system that need to be straightened out... its not exactly smooth....

For me it was choosing between studying and fretting over every little detail versus just being myself, relaxed and alert. There were some behavioral type questions so remember some major things you did, challenges overcome, etc, but overall the interview process was just a really pleasant exchange. I think the interview was more about how you connect with the person. Not multiple choice or analytical. Just crack some jokes and smile a lot. Good luck! = D

Hi Guys

I know people here are (or will be) applying for the Jan 2012 intake.
does any knows advantages and disadvantages of Jan intake for INSEAD ?
I know one major advantage for Jan intake is the internship.
Apart from that, is the competetion different (more or less) for Jan as compared to Sep ?

Do they prefer a certain kind of profile in one intake than other, i.e. I read somewhere that most applicants for Jan intake are either from Finance or want to go into finance (not sure if its true just read it somewhere a while back). So if that is true would anyone from a different industry (and with post MBA goals in that industry) will have a better chance in Jan coz the school normally wants a diverse class ?

any comments and discussion are welcome

From what I have read on various forums, the January intake is the more competitive because it gives a window for internships. Agreed that internships are required to work in the financial area, but big consulting firms also use internships to determine how good candidates are for future hiring. So I'd think internships are important regardless, whether you are a finance person or not. That leads me to surmise that Jan intake would be more competitive.

Anyways, my 2 cents.

I haven't heard from them since receiving the pre-selection email, no interviewers' details communicated yet! (based in Toronto)
