Hi, I got both my interviewers' details from AMB yesterday. Their profiles are vaguely similar to mine, but not a close match at all.

Same here. Interviewer profiles are similar but not quite the same.

I emailed both my interviewers - haven't heard back from one, and the other replied saying she's on maternity leave and has asked INSEAD to assign me an alternative interviewer. What about you guys? Ideally I'd really like to schedule mine for as soon as possible!

Hi
My first interviewer told me he was not available and no longer living in my country... I received later on 2 other interviewers details living in 2 different countries from my country of residence but I have finally scheduled my interviews next week !

Finished with my interviews. Both were senior directors for fortune 500 companies and had moved from engineering to management. Very similar to what I am planning to do.

1st interview was at a country club over the weekend. The interviewer was very nice and asked me pretty standard questions. He was very interested in probing my reasons for INSEAD rather than a 2 year MBA. To most of my answers he would nod his head, say "it makes sense" or "I see your point". He asked me my reasons for moving back to India after working in US and Europe for 6 years. Rest of the time we spent discussing my extra curricular activities and what all his job entails. It was more of a conversation and I got very good vibes at the end of it.

He did say something interesting regarding the selection procedure. He had no idea how it works and said that it is possible that the AdCom has made it's decision on who to admit but are just going through the motions, or it's even possible that interviews are very very important. Basically he was trying to impress on me that no one really knows anything for sure. He said INSEAD doesn't let slip what number or percentage of people they admit after interviews so everything said online should be taken with a grain of salt.

The interview ran for about 1.5 hours. At the end I asked him if I could add him to my network on linkedin. He agreed and told me to call him or email him if I needed any information. He didn't give me any feedback about the interview, and I didn't ask.

2nd interview was at the interviewer's office at the end of the work day. He had asked me to send him my entire application. He was very gracious and brought me a selection of sodas because they were out of coffee. He asked me to tell him something about myself. After about 15 minutes of me speaking he said he knew my profile well. Turns out the 1st interviewer and him had been roommates at INSEAD and had exchanged notes about me. So he spent the next 45 minutes discussing his experience at INSEAD with me. He gave me some tips on how to tackle the exit language requirement, student loans and spoke lovingly about Singapore, the campus and the city-state. He started his MBA at Fontainebleau but spent P4 and P5 at Singapore.

He was one of the nicest people I have met, and I felt completely at ease talking to him even though he was at such a high position. At the end he asked me to keep in touch with him and told me he is probably going to recommend me. He did say he would talk to his friend again about the interview before he sent the information in.

So all in all, a very good experience. I did think that I could have been clearer about some points in my first interview, but it is all water under the bridge now.

Now the wait begins. June 24th seems so far away!

Finished both my interviews too. Both interviews were unstructured. They started with "tell me about yourself / what brings you here" and pretty much went from there to a discussion about my career and goals. Both lasted about an hour. I didnt ask for feedback and none was provided. I felt one interview was better than the other because I got more positive non verbal feedback from one.......fingers crossed!

I finished my interviews today. Mine were pretty similar with summitbid's experiences. Both of them sticked up to 3-why questions. and then told a little bit about their experiences and asked me if I had any questions.
Both interviewers came with t-shirts and the conversation was pretty casual.

Guys....I had my first interview last week....informal/casual......the interviewer went thru my entire profile before the interview and didn't ask much about my work experience....He mentioned that he is kind of convinced with what I wrote in the essays. We chatted casually about his experience so far and on general items related to my field. He gave me a +ve feedback towards the end....so keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for the second one that is nt scheduled yet.

On a different note, I attended the INSEAD info session in Amsterdam today. It was nice connecting to the alumni and discussing concerns. One thing that struck me most was that in the formal ppt the marketing guy mentioned that they have a hard target cap pf 11% on individual nationalities.

hello folks,
while working on my application form, i realized i didnt really see any place where i could upload my resume. does insead rely solely on the application form and the resume essays? do you submit the resume at all? did anyone send it with the supporting package?
thanks!

That is an interesting nugget. From the MBAConnect data on the Sep 2011 intake forum it looks like Indians, Americans and French hit the 11% cap and make up about 1/3rd of the class. Leads me to believe that the 55 spots (maximum) for each of these nationalities are terribly competitive.

Honestly I am a bit skeptical about it. Unless they somehow manage to integrate other dimension such as countries you lived in, culture you grew up into etc etc...

Because today more than before it makes less sense to strictly use citizenships to set a cap. We had a discussion around this subject with my interviewer and he agreed with me.
As an example should a US national growing up in Japan, working in Europe and North Africa, be listed among the US nationals ? My example is not that extrem among MBA applicants population.

So I hope they keep a certain flexibility with this cap

Hello friends,

I submitted my app on 29th and mailed transcript on 30th.

There was a minor hiccup during submission, the progress check button told me that only 75 out of the 77 required fields are completed. Since I was not able to find those 2 fields I submitted anyways assumng that the submit process will tell me which are those fields. But the submission went through fine and I also queried INSEAD on this. They assured me that the app is submitted fine.

So the wait begins.

I also have a query similar to that of "dumbledore". Dont we need a resume.

I don't see the purpose of a separate resume. All the stuff you put in a resume - work ex, education, extra curr, languages etc. they already have in the form. Adding another piece of paper to the file won't add anything. But in terms of a technical nitpicky requirement - No I don't think it says anywhere a seperate resume is required.

Has anyone who has applied R2 got the formal app complete email yet? They say on their website and in the email that comes once you submit that this formal complete-app email will come within 2 weeks of submission? Even sooner if you submit earlier than the last 2 weeks. Then they also say at the same place that you should keep an eye on your inbox after the deadline has passed. Now which one is it? Is it literally 2 weeks from the time of submission of the pdf or 2 weeks after the deadline has passed? I haven't got anything yet.
