Hi Guys, I am not sure if this question has been answered earlier on this topic so kindly bear with me. I am an Indian with 6 years of work ex in USA. All my education has been in schools where english was the primary mode of education. Based on this do I get a TOEFL waiver? I really want to apply with R2 so just want to ensure I have my basis covered.

yes u will get a waiver..been there done that:)
all the best!

Don't fret. The interview deadline seems to be correlated with the interview invitation date.

Or how fast they can find alumni interviewers. Because I got my interview invitation a couples of days after you.

interesting. at various MBA fairs INSEAD representatives advertised that they have quite a big alumni network in Russia. it seems now they're having difficulty assigning interviewers. anyone based in Russia or Ukraine here, who already got interview details?

I am from KAzakhstan, but since there are no interviewers available in Kazakhstan currently, I will go to Moscow to conduct interview. I was assinged two interviewers already and arragned it on 7-8 June.

Well, you win the prize for most distance traveled for an interview. I have a 3 hour car ride to another city for one of mine. I don't feel so bad for myself now.

In your case, I hope they appreciate the effort and give you an admit. Anybody willing to travel from Almaty to Moscow for the interviews is a serious candidate. So look at it positively in this regard. I bet they will see it the same way. I do not think they are so sadistic as to make you travel across multiple time zones if they aren't serious about you.

I think the deadline of June 15th works this way. They have to make a decision by June 27th. Which means they have to have a committee a few days before then to make a decision. They also have to give the alums a couple of days to send them their feedback. So there you go. A June 15th deadline gives them a 12 day turnaround, which is pretty fast actually.

My interpretation of this (this is the positive spin) is that they are already pretty sold on us as individuals. The vetting process from here on in will be more about assembling an interesting class.

guys,

Since everyone is interview, we should do a little bit of practice. What is your answer to the INSEAD triple W? Sharing idea help calm our nerve; This is a support group after all. Mine is as followed:

Why MBA?
I want to leverage my experience as an electrical engineer to gain a broader perspective on the business side of the energy and utility business. I'd like to understand more about these businesses, so I can make educated investment decision into these businesses in the future. Warren Buffet once said in one of his speech the three most important thing about investing is learning how to value businesses, managing risk, and keep your emotion in check when it comes to investing. I plan to have my own private equity firm in 10 years after my MBA, an INSEAD MBA course will give me an educational basis on how to value businesses and managing risks. I have done research into INSEAD core courses will provide me with this basis. In addition, electives, such as "Rethinking Risk Management" will also provide me with further education on this topic.

Why Now?
I am follower of Andrew Carnagie dictum, learn all one can, earn all one can, and give all one can. I am at the stage where I still have the time and energy to learn all I can, that why i got a master degree in electrical engineering right after graduation, now the next logical step is an MBA. I plan to finish my MBA by the time I am 28, works in an investment bank for 5-7 years. Then, open my own private equity firm. Time is one of the most valuable commodity that one person can have for free, but time is not unlimited, I want to use it wisely. I consider investing my time just like investing my money. If I investing my time at the right place (INSEAD) and the right time (Now), I will have a better chance of accomplish my ultimate goal (too crazy, so I am not sharing it here lol)

Why INSEAD?
Through my working experience, I realized the important of teamwork. To move a mountain or change the world for the better, I can not do it by myself. I need really good teammate. My firm will definitely look for investment opportunity internationally. INSEAD attract the most talented people all over the globe, I want to learn from my class mate, while contribute my own insights and experience. In my opinion, to be the best, I need to be surround by the best, and INSEAD why provide me with this oppotunity.

Sharing your own answer is greatly appreciated :-)

I agree. I would shorten each one of those answers down to something that could fit in a tweet. These days that's all people have time for anyways.

I won't say it as exactly like that, but for the purpose of forum discussion, it lays out my idea.

On another unrelated topic. Why do people use "#" on facebook. It is so annoying. how about #Idontcare as a response to those people
