  • 7 years cross-border, mid-market M&A experience in addition to 3 years prior product management and sales experience.
  • M&A time includes 12 months International experience in North Africa (doing Mgmt Consulting) and 4 months in UAE (doing Project Finance).
  • Focus of application was catalyst for move in to Bulge Bracket M&A and later to PE (included application for UK Banking scholarship).
  • Received email about 1600 BST so about 1700 CET

Hey Guys

I submitted my application for R3 on the last day..and my referee submitted the recommendation 15 mins prior to the deadline on 1st August. Anyhow I have received the mail that my application is complete.

This is my first post on GC and insead and IMD are the only schools I have applied. I spent last three hours reading the 37 page thread. very interesting read.

contrary to what everyone advised me I did the unthinkable and as an Indian male applied in R3. I am just wondering if that just works in favour of ppl like me, instead of diminishing chances. What if everyone thought not to apply believing the ad com has already selected the chosen Indians. Going by the number of posts here ( which may be thoroughly wrong) it seems not many have applied Indians or otherwise R3.

I do think I have a competitive profile and should at least be given a chance at preselected interview. :lol:
Does anyone know for sure if the candidates essays or profile is shared with the I alumni taking the interview. I read conflicting findings here. Somebody shared that interview is just to see your fitment with Insead. In another post someone remarked that interview is there to check if you have not lied/inflated/exaggerated about your profile. Any pointers?

Any other Indian male hopeful on the forum applying in round 3

The alumni making the interviews don't have access to your essays but they do have access to your application form.

Thanks Chiberia...I don't know if it's just me, but IMHO I am not fond of going through something that's already in my resume. I think a copy of resume and the recommendation should suffice to let the interviewers know that what I actually accomplished in my job. They should assess my fitment based on my personal attributes and essays. ( Not that I'd like to show my essays in the first place )

I sent the application form to both interviewers and the essays were included (the links to the essays were active and the pdf files could be downloaded). So, the alumni can read them if thy were interested in them. I am not sure my interviewers read mine as they seemed more interested in discussing my resume.

Hello Alexander1...to answer your question...
"we ask you to please provide each interviewer with a copy of your online PDF application that you can access from your application Dashboard on this link: ****** (please note that your essays are not included as they are not required)."
This is a part of the e-mail one receives, long with interviewers`details, when he or she is selected to interviews. Hope that answers your query.
What I did was, while establishing the contact with my interviewers, I e-mailed them the application...and requested them to inform me if they will be interested to read through my essays or my resume. None was interested :P (They are honest INSEAD Alumni...they know that the procedure asks them to go through application only!)

I believe MBAconnect figures are updated only after the admitted candidate has received the INSEAD email and created his / her MBA connect profile.

The MBAConnect figure still stands at 159.

26 Indians, 1 Paki, 21 Americans; which doesn't really mean anything significant considering the previous batch (15J) had its largest ethnic representation as Indians - 69, Americans - 67. Plenty of room still. :-)

Thanks PlastMan! I left out the fact that my degree / GPA was shocking, but I was presuming they weren't holding that against me 10 years later.

Hopefully the hardest part about LBS EMBA will be convincing my work to let me do it (and trust me, the way they are, that will be no mean feat!).
