I know this may not seem fair. But if the adcom is really having a headache deciding, do you think our scholarship essays will play a role?
After all, those essays provide another channel to showcase who we are.

I doubt they would use those essays. Not everyone applies for scholarships let alone for the same scholarship. Since each scholarship application has a different essay topic, the AdCom wouldn't be able to compare two candidates fairly if they each applied for a different scholarship.
That's what I presume anyway! Hope that helps
