Being waitlisted as well. Really bummed because I thought I really had a good chance of getting in. After I got the WL email, I even wrote emails to my interviewers to get their feedback on my interview and both of them actually gave me pretty favorable reviews.

I guess my age is probably a concern (would be 34 when I matriculate), and probably that my GMAT is also not as competitive compared to other Chinese students. (690 albeit with a balanced Q78/V76)

Hi All. I am an Indian applicant waitlisted in R2.
My profile: 28/M, second MBA applicant (First MBA from an IIM in India); 5.5 years of work-ex, 3.5 in Private equity, 1 in Investment Banking (Analyst) and 1 in IT; International work-ex/ exposure: US, UK, HK and Japan. Currently working for a Japanese Private Equity fund in India. (GMAT: 740 (Q-49, V:42), GPA: 79/100 (Top 10% in my class)))
Both my interviews went pretty well. INSEAD is still my dream school and the fact that I have been waitlisted is very hard to digest :-((.

Hi Guys exousia curico1644

I have also been waitlisted. Its a huge blow, I feel devasted. The worse thing is not being able to plan properly. If I got rejected I would know then and there that I need to try again harder next intake.

Reading through some of the past year threads it is a caotic down spiral of emotions. Apparently it is possible to get an offer right up to two weeks before classes start. But the best shots I think are four weeks after the R2 decision deadline which is when the first deposit needs to be made and again 4 weeks after R3 deadline (October). Still all this allows for poor planning for those who get out of the wailist.

- So far acording to Clearadmit live wire there are 13 waitlist I can only imagine there are a lot more. I know it varies but does anyone know the percentage of offers made to waitlisted?

- Also I read that candidates can't have 2 ongoing application meaning that to apply for the next intake we would need withdraw from the WL. Can anyone actually confirm this?

- I also read that waitlisted are used to improve the diversity pool of the class. So I guess it depends on a candidates background, experience and nationality. Anyone care to comment?

- It would be great to have a total number of candidates and a breakdown by country. Does anyone know someone with access to MBAconnect?

- Keeping hopes up but chances of getting off wait list for Jan intake I think is lower compared to July intake. Its because those who apply to July intake also tend to apply to other US business schools.

No idea, I think this changes from promotions to promotions.

Not sure if this is true though but if you did receive an email from INSEAD telling you to reapply then you definitely should; otherwise INSEAD's position is that they do not encourage reapplying.

Yeah that is what I heard as well. Some got off the WL 5 days after they got the WL email, some 2 weeks, some couple of months, some retook GMAT, flew all the way to France to meet the AO in person but still didn't get off the WL in the end so I would say the two things we can do is a) do whatever we can to improve our profile and keep AO's posted and b) PRAY PRAY PRAY !

This is outta my ass so don't quote me on it but:

I think the yield is probably around 60-80% depending on year and intake. If I were insead I would use the conservative end of that metric to build a waitlist.

If we assume 150 offers were made, there are probably another 60 people (+-10) on the waitlist.

Do you think INSEAD takes into account the different acceptance rate between January and September intake? As @ mentioned the acceptance rate should be higher on January.

What is this 280, is it the admits so far. so including R1 and R2?

Thanks for this @iccotdis. Seems like 350 admitted despite only round 2; at this rate we would end up with 700, assuming a 70% yield that would probably end up with 10 - 20 off the waitlist. Wonder how many are wait listed.

Hi exousia

According to the latest count on the Jan2016 intake gmatclub thread, 524 candidates got admitted last year. Assuming that, is the number they will admit this year 524 - 354 = 170 spaces left. Meaning 85 for each R3 & R4 round. Not quite sure how many spaces for wait-listed.
