Question

Hello 
Might be a basic question, but does INSEAD record the 45 seconds of preparation prior to giving the 1 minute video interview?

Also how long does it take before you are notified of the next round decision?

Hi  vidyuthanand90 ,

I just wanted to build on what SchruteDwight already answered. On INSEAD's website, you can see two notification dates: Interview decision and Final decision. These dates are the latest you can hear back from INSEAD.

However, INSEAD starts sending interview invites and starts calling admits around 10-14 days prior to those decision notification dates. And Rejection notifications tend to be sent towards the end.

Yes, this editor gives the few seconds trial before the actual video that is the great thing to do. It gives us a way to select the right angle to make a video. I have positive feedback regarding the editor.

Hey guys,

Practically how does the video interview works? Will INSEAD view my screen while recording the official responses? I'm asking because during my preparation I'm writing notes on the most common asked questions, so am I allowed to look on these notes on my laptop or do i need to print them? it would be much more convenient to have them on a word file so i can quickly search for keywords during the 45 sec preparation.

Hi,

I don't think INSEAD will view your screen while recording. You could try out the unlimited trial questions before the official responses to see if you can quickly search for your notes, and refer to them while looking at the camera (and not look like you are reading from a script). In my experience, there isn't much time to prep in the 45 seconds, but the bigger issue is how to keep the answers succinct. 60 seconds pass by really fast, and it's really easy to run out of time before you finish your answer.

Just have the text werever you want but you would likely want to see yourself while you are recording, maybe you can have a word and in the 45' type the key words you want to mention in a notepad so you can look at it while speaking.

They cannot see your screen you only give access to the camera and mic.
I will do them tomorrow... still have to practice a bit and go through the list, there are too many possible questions.

Remember that is 22nd of May FRENCH time (GMT+2 now)

And if possible I would do it tomorrow better than the day after, last-minute glitches have some room if you have a day left, little if you have few hours...

Not yet, I was planning to do it on Saturday but I was sick for two days last week so I may move it to Monday or Tuesday, I wanted to do few more practice tests before.

But yes, it will be online, here we are still in lockdown (+9 weeks already...).

A new problem I am having is that my hotspot that is connected to my laptop keeps getting disconnected, particularly at night. I want to have my video interview at night since it is quieter then. Lot of noise from the neighbors during the day. (I don't live in America where it might not mostly occur). I don't know if it is because more wi-fi networks are available at night. A reason my wife gave for why her father's phone was getting disconnected is because there is a daily usage limit. I don't know what the problem with my phone is. I'm thinking of going to a mobile store tomorrow with this problem. I'll ask for solutions or buy a dongle with the hope that it doesn't get disconnected in the middle of the interview. You know, we have only one chance on the real video interviews!
