Is a – b + c > 0?

(1) a + c > 0
(2) b < 0

since we are dealing with 3 variables and statements I and II talk of either 1 or the other two variable, individually they are NOT suff..

combined..

(1) a + c > 0
(2) b < 0 or -b>0..
now we have two eq in greater than, so we can add them..
\(a+c-b>0+0............\\
a-b+c>0\)...
Suff

Hi RatneshS
Quote:
It feels like a blunder here in your solution that is algebraic
case 1
a+c>0 let a+c=80 b<0 let -10 combined =80-10=70 so >0

case 2
a+c>0 let a+c=20 b<0 let -50 combines=20-50 so <0

Answer should be E

Since you have removed this post, I believe you have understood why ans is C and why the solution is OK..
If not please post the query
