Statement 1:
p^2 + 1 = odd
P has to be even in this case. odd + odd = even but even + odd = odd.
Sufficient.
Statement 2:
p + 2 = even
Sufficient.
Odd + 2 = odd
even + 2 = even .
The best answer is D.
