Hi Moulika,
your work experience sounds relevant for business schools - although it would be great to hear the details of what you do and what your achievements are. You should be good to apply to ISB this year - just get a good GMAT score - think 700+

All the best.

Hi Namita,

Thanks for getting back.

My follow up to you would be- given my academic history and lack of a blue-chip employer, what programmes (preferably 1 year) abroad could I realistically target?

To answer your question, I mostly deal with conducting and coordinating primary and secondary research on market strategy projects for private healthcare players, converting those into usable insights that later become our recommendations on questions of strategy, marketing, operations. Also headed up projects designing monitoring and impact evaluation frameworks for large philanthropic orgs and government programmes. I've come to lead several of these teams and delivered quantifiable impact for some of the clients I've worked with, been reporting directly to my Partner fon several of my projects.

Hi mohancrao31

That GMAT score may be a bit low. Try and raise by a minimum of 20 points. The rest looks competitive. If you can get the GMAT score done in time for R1, apply in R1; else apply in R2.

Hi Ushabagadi

Thank you for posting. What are your post-PGP goals? At 12+ years, you have a lot of experience; your fit with the PGP will need to be looked at more closely, as ISB has other programs such as PGPMAX for more experienced professionals.

Hi MoulikaSaxena

Try for a 700+ on the GMAT and you should have a decent chance. What are your post-MBA goals, as you are already into consulting?

Hi santhiitg

Your profile looks quite good for ISB and you should have a very good chance. Two questions:
- Which happened first - pharma or banking? what is your post MBA objective?
- Your ECA is ok; not as strong as the rest of your profile. Any achievements in the sports you have been involved in?

Hi!

I am a retail professional with 8+ years of experience. Currently working with an conglomerate for their in-house fashion label.

I have already done from masters in management from NIFT Delhi, specialising in Retail, however now looking at a more generalised degree, to move into a strategy based role.

Yet to take GMAT, targeting 720.

Is my experience too much for an ISB class? Will being from retail add towards the diversity prospect in my application?

Many Thanks

Hi swat1
- If you can get the 720 (or even 700) you should have a decent chance, with a strong app.
- Your experience is currently not too much, but yes, it is at the higher end of the spectrum. Would recommend that you definitely apply this year.
- The retail experience is a plus and will add to your diversity.

Hope this helps. Feel free to come back with more queries as needed.

Hi,

You have a good profile, Turningpages. What I see is substantial achievements and leadership impact, and when presented nicely, that definitely helps in building strong applications. Your career goals sound valid. When writing the goals essay, do connect the dots with what you have done so far, how you have grown and what skills you lack for your future goal.

HI Nibh,

Its always beneficial to get a score above 700. Other than your score and other academics, the admissions team will evaluate your work experience (quality of work, promotions, impact you created), and your profile outside work - what are the kind of ECAs you have done and how have you succeeded in doing those?
