The word maybe is considered too simple for the GMAT. Thus, whenever you see the word maybe in a Sentence Correction question, eliminate all answer choices that include it, and choose answer choices that use perhaps, possibly or probably instead.
B. probably ask that her boss increases
Although this answer choice corrects the original mistake by replacing maybe with probably, it is grammatically incorrect. Ask is one of the nine verbs to which the Subjunctive rule applies (if it is followed by that). This means that the next verb after ask that should be in base form. However, increases is not in base form - it is in Present (V1) form

My answer is (C). It took me 19 seconds.

(B) "ask" is used as one of the bossy verbs. Bossy verbs dictate the use of subjunctive mood: "increases" should be ”increase", as (C) does.
(D) "ask her boss to add an increase to" is wordy and awkward.
