Hi everyone. I just had my Johnson interview with an adcom member over Skype (I explained how I wanted to go to Ithaca but couldn't due to the outrageous plane ticket costs - $1000/22 hour flight/9 hour overlay from Honolulu to Ithaca).
I was a bit nervous but the interview was very conversational. Went overtime (interview lasted almost an hour) but she said it was okay since we had a good conversation (Hope that's a good sign!)
So questions I was asked:
Tell me about yourself.
Why MBA, why now?
Why Cornell?
Tell me about leadership (example)
Greatest failure.
Weaknesses.
Strengths.
What is your greatest fear?
What other schools did you apply to?
How would you prepare for the quantitative portion of MBA? (Notes about my lack of quant classes and Verbal stronger than Quant GMAT from those who reviewed my application) I mentioned about possibly taking courses at the local university but not wanting my core courses to become redundant since a current student mentioned it happening to him. She mentioned the option of enrolling in (MBAMath. com) to prepare.
How would you contribute to the school?
Is there something I didn’t ask about but you would like me to know? Any concerns you have about your application that you would like to address?
Any questions?
So I'm planning to email my interviewer thanking her - any tips about what the contents should involve? And when? Current day? Next day?
Also, she told me that Consortium applicants should receive a decision by Feb. 21 (I applied through Consortium R2)

You can send it the next day. Keep it simple. Thank him/her for their time, tell them if they have any further questions you'd be happy to answer them and IMPORTANTLY pick something unique up from the interview and highlight it.
For example, if you did some charity worked that he/she seemed enthusiastic about, reference it in the email. 'I enjoyed our conversation about habitat for humanity. Here's a link to the latest project they're doing in Peru!'. It helps them remember exactly who you were and that you're enthusiastic about what you do.

Just got done with my interview. It was very conversational, and this visit really solidified my interest in the school.
