I believe this should be correct regarding an individual's chance in getting into at least 1 school. Which means you can get into multiple.

Of course it assumes that an acceptance rate is equivalent to a candidate's probability to getting an admit which is not necessarily true.

That's what I meant. Certain profiles seem to have better probabilities than other profiles. So doing it as a straight 20% probability doesn't work. Thanks for explaining better than I could. :)

My application status eventually turned into "under review" this morning just after my inquiry email about the application process.

In my limited experience (and take this with a grain of salt), the application status doesn't really mean very much. I believe mine said something like "Application Submitted" for a long time, then "under review" for only a day before changing again to "interview offered" or something like that. Then, after I interviewed, it didn't change again until I was accepted. Just take it easy. They may have changed up the process a bit this year (I'm not involved with admissions), but last year some people got interview invites literally days after the deadline and some people had to wait over a month. Both people in this 2-person sample set were accepted in R1.

Of course, you should mail to admissions office as fast as possible. I had the same problem, they couldn't sort out my transcripts and recommendations.
In total, it took five days to explain them that they already had everything they needed. So, I strongly encourage you to contact them.

According to the admission information published in the Johnson's website, don't they have the general deadline of "initial notification date" on Nov. 5 for all applicants? So are you sure, dwalzz1?

forgot to mention I am a 1 year applicant and I suspect they process those applications a bit quicker (noticed they have a much faster rd 2 deadline of 10 DEC vice 7 JAN for 2yr). also, my application status still says "under review," but I got a formal email from the interview coordinator. Note: for anyone abroad, the email mentioned the option of interviewing a school rep in London, UK. best of luck everyone.

Looks like the first round of invites will come out tomorrow based on last year's forum posts.

Early notifications will be out a week from tomorrow as well!
