Guys, come on, calm down! Take it easy.
(if you add up acceptance rates of all schools to which you have applied and if the sum gives you a number more than 100% - be sure you will be accepted, well at least it is statistics).
Actually to calculate the probability of getting into at least one school (and it
cannot be greater than 100% and cannot equal 100%).
1-P(Getting rejected from every school)
Therefore if you take the acceptance rate of a school as the probability that you will get in, P(Getting rejected from a school) = 1-P(Acceptance rate)
To get to the probability of getting rejected from
every school, you would take the product of the probabilities of getting rejected from each school.
You can get very close to 100% but never reach it (see attached).
Just an engineer trying to kill time while waiting for rejections...
