International applicant. I have problems with the school code, no schools from my country in the list!
Any thoughts?

Just try typing in your school name and leave the school code blank for now? Is it a required field?

I'd advise calling the admissions office to ask them. I'm sure you're not the first person with that question.

Submitted for R2!

Could someone who has experienced Round 1 describe the pattern in which interview invites are sent.

  • Are they in spurts or are they all sent out in one go?
  • Till how many days before the deadline do the invites come in?
  • Are all the decisions notified on decision day or does a batch of decisions come out earlier?

Also any other info that might be helpful.

I know I could get all this info if i went through the entire thread, but forgive the laziness  I've just come out of a gruelling app submission season which was preceded by an even worse DING season :P

I left it blank. It isn't a mandatory field.

  • Are they in spurts or are they all sent out in one go?
For R1 they were all sent out at noon on the initial notification date. For R2 I believe that date is Feb 18. See: https://www.johnson.cornell.edu/Full-Time-MBA/Admissions/Important-Dates
  • Till how many days before the deadline do the invites come in?
    See Answer Above
  • Are all the decisions notified on decision day or does a batch of decisions come out earlier?
Most admitted applicants received a phone call the day before decision day. To my knowledge, no one in the 2 year program received notification earlier

Also any other info that might be helpful.

Sorry to hear about your disappointing R1. :gl in R2!

Also, if possible, try to attend a class or info session to meet students or admissions members. I think it's always nice to put a face to the name both for you and for them so that when they are reviewing your application they can draw on more than just what's on your resume and essays.

Thanks dtse86.

Somehow I knew that you would be the one to answer my query. You're doing a great job on the thread with all your help. Congrats on your admit and good luck!

One of my recommenders submitted the recommendation but neither she nor I received a mail about it. The Johnson app doesn't have any other way to confirm if the recommendation got submitted.

Anyone else who faced any such issue?

Also, I just submitted two recos instead of three. Does it hurt the prospects?

I got confirmation mails for all recommendations. It will be better to confirm it with ad-com via an e-mail to prevent any problem.

I just submitted two recos instead of three as you did. I thought two well-reasoned and solid recos would be enough.

Ditto, I believe two recommendations are typically enough for the adcom to get a good sense of who you are at work and as a professional.

Giving them more might just annoy them if it doesn't present them with more information about you. Remember they do have a lot of applications to review...

Thanks! I just want to "pay-it-forward" to you guys in R2 and make sure the emotionally draining process isn't as bad! :gl and let me know if you have any more questions about my experience!

Nice! Well :gl and hope you get the opportunity to return to Ithaca! From my understanding Johnson likes Cornell Alum returning for their MBA!

Thanks! I made an Odyssey joke in my application about returning to Ithaca. Small joys like that got me through application season.

I'm hoping they take some pity on me. Feeling pretty down about the dings at Darden and Ross in R1. I'm not sure I am any more qualified now but I think I did a better job of conveying my strengths in R2.

Same issue with me. I asked my recommender to resubmit and then I got the email yesterday.. But when i logged in today, it says letter of recommendation awaited from one of your recommender. I wrote to adcom and have forwarded the email which confirms that LOR has been submitted by both the recommenders.

They just reverted back that LoR revived and application submitted. Pretty impressed with the promptness
