So there are basically no tests on which I can say that I am at least 90% prepared. OG mocks used to be reliable but now I think GMAT has significantly raised difficulty level as 700 scorers increased a lot ( read from an article).
beside OG you can try Manhattan test. But I dont know about your claim. I saw this type of post before. It could be true. Exam scores depend not only on your preparation, but on various factors

If I understood your Q, you’re asking what your target score should be right?
If thats the case, its very subjective depending on various factors including background, University min score etc etc. Difficulty level is based on your target score.

Sorry, If I am not interrupting between your conversation. All I want to say that scoring to the best to your ability depends how do you handle the test. Because, everyone uses the same material. So, it all depends how you are using it. Right?

Hi guys. Trying to attempt GMAT at end of the month and doing OG questions and already revised for 1 month. I am completing the OG questions. Just wonder what is the accuracy rate for OG HARD verbal questions? My easy and medium lv are ok (80-90%). But accuracy rate for hard questions significantly dropped to ~50%. Really frustrated me a lot. Is it a norm for everyone who do the OG questions at their first attempt? Thank you

Okay, OG Guide’s level is messed up. Sorry to say, but Hard still have a fair amount of Easy Q’s there. There’s a reason why I live in FORUM, the levels in FORUM are a good gauge tbh. Saying this cause at one point, I started copy-pasting the Q’s in FORUM to understand the level.
I believe the GMAT Club team have done an amazing job classifying this.

*Copy Pasting my previous response to this Q*
Its hard to assess tbh. It all depends on how you personally perform and pick up speed. Also, previous experience or study background is hard to gauge. Personally, the areas I thought I was strong in became my main challenge points. I think its good if you have a solid plan that you’re constantly reviewing it. Practice Q’s and do mocks.
Another personal tip, you know you’re moving forward well when you’re able to answer Q’s in the top percentile with better accuracy and within the stipulated 2 mins.

*Copy Pasting my previous response to this Q*
Two ways to assess yourself:
1- Review a set of Q’s from FORUM, attempt them. There’s timer in FORUM Q’s for you time them - start from lower levels and then build up - thats the trick I’ve used
2- If you are indeed ambitious, attempt a Mock (honestly, super good gauge). There’s 2 free mocks available in MBA.com. And we all start there.

I hate how true this is. Here’s a reality check if you’re using the Q’s to your advantage though it differs from people.
I love how Pooja hit us hard on facts.

Yes after reading through several posts, I came to conclusion that Manhattan prep mocks should be focused. I have already attempted 1 free test that Manhattan offers and got a reliable score, especially in verbal : After the 1st easy-medium question, more than 80% of the questions were 700-800, so I guess Manhattan mock are little bit on the tougher side. I am in a dilemma whether to buy all the mocks they offer ( 40 $ ) as I have my test in a week! What do you or anyone here suggest? Is it ok to write mocks before a week for real test?

I think you are a better gauge.
1. How do you deal with your Anxiety?
2. How long is your recovery from a bad exam?
3. Can you cope with the mental exhaustion of multiple mocks?
Cause a good score may inflate your confidence for exam and a bad score may lead to exam Anxiety. Its a good practice if you can mentally cope with all this. It may backfire if you cant.

As someone how has spoken to you, you seem to have a good mental hygiene that I find admirable. But I still dont know you feel.

*well

Thank you, I am considering all these points for the decision. It’s actually fine unless I get a score varying significantly from my mean score, such as more than 50-60 points ( either down or up side), So may be I am gonna take a shot :-)

Important thing to take into account, if you do experience any Anxiety if you still decide to take it, do you have a good coping mechanism to help you recover fast? Especially a workout that works or mindfulness tricks.

Its not about sweating during a workout, for exam, its more of, "Does it clear your mind?" . I swim and swimming does both so I am settled.

Manhattan , I felt, don’t throws you a lot of surprising questions, such as rhetorical or idiomatic usages, which you can go wrong how much you ever prepare. Questions are of ultimate standards like GMAT’s. So It’s very reliable.

I will not say that I never get anxiety, but its negligible for me and something not worth focusing on. Let’s say I get a bad score on the first mock, I just forget it in a day and don’t carry that feeling for the next mock.

I don’t understand how you people get time for such long and detailed interactions. Mostly, I have observed students who hit their target scores don’t find time for chit-chat. All I can say is that one must work in silence and let your success make noise.

Malar95, Just want to check whether Yashika Aggarwal responded to your query. Yesterday, you were concerned about some top Spanish B-schools.
