I agree that interaction to some extent is important. But let me tell you one thing most Americans who are successful in their lives don’t waste their time in baseless interactions. So, my dear friend just take care of all these factors before you comment on anyone.
Matha, Pitha, Guru, Deivam. Those are my forces. Im not gonna comment further.

Q1. Naomi, who owns a cookware appliance store, has donated cookware and other electronics to programs intended to develop cooking skills at schools within that area. She found statistics relating to the obesity levels in young adults to be disturbing, she wanted to do something to encourage better eating habits by helping people cook their own food at home. Some members of the community have shown their support for this action by purchasing cookware appliances from Naomi’s dealership. Which one of the following propositions is best illustrated by the passage? A The only way to reduce obesity is by eating home cooked food. B Educational session on cooking are the only way to encourage youth to eat healthier C Young adults are the group most likely to benefit from cooking programs. D It is usually in ones best interest to perform actions that benefit others. E Altruistic actions sometimes have positive consequences for those who perform them

Q2. Before the advent of writing each of the isolated clans of the Comaquogue tribe had master storytellers whose function was to orally transmit the clan’s tradition from one generation to the next. When writing was developed within certain clans of the tribe, their master storytellers disappeared within a few generations. This stands to reason, since the availability of written records obviated the need for masterful oral communicators to keep the tradition of literate clans alive. What has puzzled anthropologists, however, is the total lack of masterful storytellers in modern illiterate Comaquogue clans. Which of the following, if true, best helps to explain the puzzling situation mentioned above? (A) Modern illiterate Comaquogue clan members display personality characteristics that resemble their ancestors more closely than they resemble the characteristics of modern literate Comaquogue clan members. (B) Modern illiterate Comaquogue clans participate in more ritual gatherings than most modern literate Comaquogue clans do, but they participate in fewer ritual gatherings than did their common ancestors. (C) Modern illiterate Comaquogue clans are recently descended from long-time literate clans that failed to pass on the skills of reading and writing due to a devastating 75-year war. (D) The celebrations of modern illiterate Comaquogue clans involve a great deal of singing and dancing, and children are taught clan songs and dances from a very young age. (E) The traditions of modern illiterate Comaquogue clans are an amalgamation of the cumulative experiences of previous generations plus innovations to the heritage added by the current generation of clan members.

CR Questions January - 4 :

Q1. A rise in the price of raw materials has recently caused hardship for glass manufacturers. A method of firing experienced workers and keeping those with the lowest salaries has been adopted by a number of companies, supposedly in order to contend with the economical difficulties. There is strong evidence that the raw materials will soon return to their former price, but before then, companies will have lowered the quality of their products, and therefore reduced their sales value, by employing inexperienced workers. It is unwise for glass manufacturers to filter the employment of workers by the lowest required salary.

In the argument given, the two portions in boldface play which of the following roles?

A. The first is evidence that has been used to support the argument’s position; the second is that position.

B. The first is the result of an action opposed by the argument’s position; the second is evidence which further supports that position.

C. The first is the prediction of the outcome of an action that the argument’s conclusion opposes; the second is that conclusion.

D. The first describes a situation in order to challenge the position that the argument seeks to establish; the second is that position.

E. The first is a prediction that has been used as support for the argument’s position; the second is an objection to that position.

Q2. In a recent poll, 71% of respondents reported that they cast votes in the most recent national election. Voting records show, however, that only 60% of eligible voters actually voted in that election.

Which of the following pieces of evidence, if true, would provide the best explanation for the apparent discrepancy?

(A) The margin of error for the survey was plus or minus five three percentage points.

(B) Fifteen percent of the survey’s respondents were living overseas at the time of the election.

(C) Prior research has shown that that people who actually do vote are also more likely to respond to polls than those who do not vote.

(D) Many people who intend to vote are prevented from doing so by last-minute conflicts on election day or other complications.

(E) Some people confused the national election with other recent elections when responding to the poll.

I recently took the GMAT and scored 640 with a score of 48 on quant and 29 on verbal. On the enhanced score report, I see that I scored 46th percentile on CR, 49th on RC and 77th on SC. Clearly RC and CR were weak points. Can someone recommend a good course to improve CR and RC. I have heard a lot about egmat’s verbal course. Is it good for RC and CR. I am planning to spend two month’s time and write the GMAT Focus edition towards end of February or early March, 2024. I won’t be spending lot of time on quant section

Hey Prashant, I am going for my second attempt in less than a week. I have used EGMAT for a complete year. I have finished up and down every concept file at least 2 times ( as my basics used to be little weak). I would say EGMAT is know more for it’s Sentence correction part rather than CR or RC ’s. Not to say CR or RC are not good. But I have seen people complaining about EGMAT’s pre thinking style. But for me it worked out very well. You are the better judge for yourself. Try the course, if you can digest it well, good luck :-)

prashantmishra95,
I believe for Cr
Go through powerscore or Manhattan Cr once
U can jot down your own notes or highlight in the book
And can even download GMAT Cr notes from GMAT club download section
And start practicing sub 600 and 600-650 level
All official questions
Don’t just find the right answer. Reason why other 4 are wrong

Try finding a pattern for below
1. Trap answer
A very attractive option almost matches with argument but wrong because of
Key words such as some, many, most
Or extreme words such as only
2. For argument
As in how author has arrived to the conclusion
3. Find the conclusion of the argument
Many a times esp at higher level question we make mistake and can’t find the correct conclusion despite the fact that we read and re read and understand the entire argument

Do only topic wise
As in
Assumption
Inference /must be true/complete the passage
Evaluate
Method of reasoning
Flaw in the reasoning
Cause and effect
Causation
Strengthen
Weaken
Paradox
80% of the questions we face in exam are either assumption, strengthen, weaken or inference
Remaining almost 20% is from inference, paradox, roleplay or boldface
Boldface is normally expected to be there when one gets v34 or above
U can leave method of reasoning and flaw in the reasoning and still get a handsome verbal score basis your main 4 topics
Evaluate assumption strengthen and weaken are strong

Once you finish topic wise sub 600 and 600-650
I mean each of the question
From
All ogs
All verbal reviews
GMAT paper test
And try doing few last

And once u are confident enough after reviewing the wrong ones where u commited error may be silly ones or may be got trapped

Then go through entire book again
Just to make sure you understand everything in the book
Now comes the drill part
Start with 650-700 and 700-750 level
Assign 2-3 mins
And keep doing till you finish again all official q
Then review your mistakes again
And finally target for
750 and onwards
Take 3 mins and drill

Try doing 20 questions in 1 sitting to boost your stamina and focus

Lastly and most importantly
If you notice almost all prep companies make their questions basis on the pattern and concept of official ones
Be it Cr, be it ps ds or any

And we have total of over 1600 official GMAT q
Including GMAT prep which is around 400-450

So practice 1200 questions and reviewing
If you can do that
Then go for other prep companies questions

Most of them are substandard
Except ttp egmat and Manhattan and may be maghoos and Kaplan
