There is a link that bring you all the consolidated questions...you will want to search the Verbal sub-forum

You can always go to the sub-forum and practice from there if you missed any all these questions are there so technically you wouldn’t miss any if you look them up

If the question stem states " the hypothesis gets most support if which of following assumed is true"

Then is it an assumption question or strengthen question? In CR

Assumption?

I mean what do you think?

See assumptions are unstated premises that strengthen the conclusion. But an assumption has to be true for the conclusion to be true.

So, if we are actually assuming something to be true, then we are looking for an extra premise that strengthens the conclusion.

Therefore, the stem you have shared indicates a strengthening question.

Hi, so on assumption questions, one way to deal with them is to negate the assumption, now you may not need to negate all the answer options. On some tricky question, a trap answer will actually strengthen the argument but it may not be a required assumption, something which is absolutely required to be true for the argument to hold.

Absolutely! But let us also keep in mind that it is advised we use the negation test only if we are confused between two answer options.

So assumption is something which is not said or explicitly stated, but is required for the argument to hold. Some answer choices may strenghen or have no impact at all....

Which of the following is assumed to be true is just another way of saying ’if true’.

Notice that assumption questions don’t require us to assume that the answer options are true. In fact, the correct answer must be true for the conclusion to be on solid ground. However, in strengthening and weakening questions, the stem categorically asks us to assume that the answer options are true by mentioning ’if true’. Just because you find the word ’assume’ does not mean it is an assumption question.

Same goes for inference and strengthening questions. ’Which of the following, if true, supports the argument?’ - STRENGTHENING while ’Which of the following is supported by the passage?’ - INFERENCE

And when I say assumptions strengthen the conclusion, I mean to say they act as support structures for the conclusion. But remember, assumptions can be flawed; nonetheless, they will still provide support for the conclusion.

Hi, Can anyone help me with this problem : In GenSect Solutions, majority of the IT professionals work on Projects involving coding. A survey done last year found that as high as 25% of female IT professionals but only 5% of male ones committed errors while writing codes. The findings of the survey clearly indicate that a longer stint at writing codes and therefore a greater proficiency in coding makes male IT professionals much better at writing codes than their female counterparts.

Which of the following is an assumption on which the argument depends?

A. The per capita coding work done by male IT professionals is not significantly lower than that done by their female counterparts.

B. The male IT professional do not constitute a significantly larger percentage of IT professionals at GenSect Solutions than the female ones.

C. The higher percentage of errors in newly joined IT professionals as compared to that in employees with a few years’ experience is attributable to the greater amount of coding experience.

D. The male IT professionals, in general do a comparable amount of coding with reference to the female IT professionals.

E. The client companies of GenSect prefer their projects to be handled by male IT professionals because of the lower error margins

OA is A , i couudlnt eliminate C - Please explain
