my last job was in 2022, i took a short break after that tried to start a venture fund but couldnt, worked on it for 1.5years, would this hamper my chances? and would i stand chance in 2 year program in top collges?

THere are always exceptions to the rules... someone said there was a47 y/o in their HBS MBA... You can go for it, but know that it will be a moonshot from many angles.

26years old indian male with 4 years of experience in semiconductor firm

Education
10th - CBSE board 10/10cgpa
12th - CBSE board 92.2%
Graduation - Btech+Metch dual degree in elctronics and commnuication -NIT Hamirpur (cleared Jee mains) cgpa 8.51 in btech and 8.52 in Mtech.

Research Paper Published - 1 (domain - DeepLeaning and Neural network)

During my graduation i was a part of my colleges Band, and have perfomed for my college in multiple occasions

Curretly working as Senior Engineer in Qualcomm in Audio Domain (development)
i have expereiecen of working in web devlopment, Machine learning, Embedeed system software, in embedded testing, embedded core bsp development , linux drivers etc.

i gave my first gmat attempt recently and got a 615 , i will give my second attempt soon i am aiming or 650+ scores .
Do I have a realistic chance attop programs, given my background and age?
What GMAT score range should I aim for to stay competitive?
what score should i target for Wharton ?

b. Bachelor’s in chemistry from St Joseph’s University, Bangalore(7.53)

Professional background:
Position: R&D analyst
Experience: 2.5 years
Companies: mCaffeine (Hyphen-sister brand), Skinkraft, Ayu herbals (D2C)
My work primarily involves product development of personal care and cosmetic products. A lot of lab work, testing, and manufacturing work.
From early on, I have been part of the CEO’s office, responsible for tracking product launch statuses and contributing to discussions on bottlenecks.
Since I have only worked in start-ups, extended roles and responsibilities include vendor and client management, marketing, and consumer insight analysis for B2B and D2C markets.

Extracurricular:
I am a professional dancer with 15 years of training. Trained in Indian classical form and Jazz.
I actively perform theatre and dance with my group- SHAKTI

monkinaferrari, Your age is perfect, no issues there. GMAT above 645 will put you in range for T15 admissibility... for Wharton you’d need to aim for 675+. Tech skills are good, but leadership is better on an MBA app - make sure to demonstrate times you lead teams/projects - at work or outside work - even organizing a cricket team counts! Wharton is going to be looking for breadth and depth - so make sure you showing them this in your field and how it connects to your short and long term goals.... and obviously, how Wharton is part of the story.

Looking to hear some critical feedback on my profile.

Academics:
Bachelors in Design, from a Tier 1 Fashion College in India (7.5 CGPA)
12th - 85%

GMAT: 615. Retaking the GMAT in 2 days, hoping for score improvement.
(Planning apply for R1, otherwise R2)

Work Ex: 5 years 10 months

Currently working with Boston Consulting Group, as a designer in the BCG Design Studios.
(Been a year here)
Pivoted from Core Textiles towards Graphics and Marketing/Strategic Design oriented work.
Been handling varied case work across industries and contributing to multiple Public Sector projects as well.

Before this, I was working with Welspun (a Fortune 500 Conglomerate) designated as an Assistant Manager in the Home Textiles Design Team. (3 years 7 months) Catered to the Exports business, managed key retail accounts for Europe, Middle East and Australia. Successfully fostered signicant business growth, for varied retailers. (Have quantifiable data to back the same)

Have had no leadership experience, but mentored the summer and winter batch of interns for the graduation projects, at my previous firm.

Extra-curriculars (in college):
1. Held a leadership position in the College Student Council. Executed multiple fests and events, also managed a crew of over 40 student body members.
2. Parallely, co-founded 2 startups. One in the fin-tech space - failed after 3 years of ideation and MVP deployment due to a lack of resources and relevance.
Other was an online blogging platform for closed communities, the amalgamation of Medium & Facebook Groups. (Both of them were incubated in IIT Delhi)
3. Worked on a social project, which aimed at spreading awareness about sanitational hygiene for women in urban slums of India. Designed board games which were circulated in schools as a part of their learning module.

Post MBA goals:
Short term : work in a strategic marketing role, merging my creative skillset and putting my retail industry experience to use.
Long term : turn entrepreneurial

Then the world is your oyster! Most top MBAs can easily lead to this. You could apply to most top programs with a GMAT FE >685 - HEC Paris came to mind with your beauty brand experience, but you could do this at CBS, NYU, UCLA, LBS as well...
