Hello,

I recently started a new job in late February of 2017, and am planning to apply this fall to b-school to enroll in 2018. I have had 3 positions before the current one, where my longest tenure was only a little more than a year and a half. Obviously, I can't ask for letters of recommendations from management in my current job - this will tip them off that I will leave them in a year or so from now - will only having letters of recommendation from past employers hinder my business school application?

Hi MbaConfucius ,

To answer your question in short: No, It won't. You can always mention the same reason and say that "since I didn't get a chance to work with them more closely, I believe they will not be able to evaluate my strengthens and weakness rightly.".

Hence, it will not be an issue at all. :)

As long as it is from direct supervisor (current or former), there is no problem. But the issue starts when you choose a client, for example. There are some schools, Emory and Tuck are example who want to utilize the optional essay and mention why you choose him instead of a current supervisor. KF, for example, told me that they know those problems and do not want any optional essay.
