Hi - would like to get some thoughts on my profile and whether I have a realistic shot at getting into a M7 school.
26 year old white male
Undergrad and MS in accounting from a top ranked SUNY school but not a school that will move the needle/consistently places people in top business schools
GPA: Undergrad 3.55 / Masters 3.75 - Undergrad GPA definitely stronger during the later half of College and around a 3.8 if you only include major related business/account classes
GMAT: 740 (Q48 / V42 / IR8)
Work Experience: Four years at big 4 accounting firm. 3 years in audit and one year in TS advisory working with PE/Corp clients. Consistently rated top performer and promoted ahead of typical time frame at firm. In addition to transaction experience in TS during audit was involved on large IPO/Acquisition and a carve-out.
Outside of work: Pretty weak here - in college I was selected for some tutoring positions but nothing major like Board positions/major charity work.
Goal is to obtain an MBA to transition from current focusing primarily on the financial perspective deals to consulting on the strategy/business side of deals.
Trying to decide if its worth even applying:
HBS
Wharton
Targets
Booth
Kellog
MIT
Tuck
If I could get any thoughts on my chances at the above mentioned schools it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I do not see HBS happening for you and Wharton may be pretty tough. Not having any extra-curriculars is a big gap. I would want to explore your personal story more as that could impact your chances quite a bit. Nothing about the profile jumps out that would give you a great shot at the best schools, but elements of your story would. Now you still have a great GMAT score and work at a professional services firm so top 10 are worth applying to. Whether you can land at Kellogg, MIT or Tuck will depend on other elements of your story and your essay strength.

Thanks for sharing your profile. You have a nice background with a competitive GPA and GMAT score for your target programs. I think the top programs like HBS really look for some exceptional aspect to your profile and I'm not really seeing that here although your background is very strong. Extra-curriculars for many candidates in your position can help fill this gap but since you don't have any to speak of this does not help. I think how you package your story will be critical to making sure you net an admit at your target programs but feel you should in play if you can do this.
