Hi,

I am aiming for R1 ISB-H and IIM-A PGPX. Hoping that someone here can help me choose an admission consultant which not only helps me weave a story & increase my chances, but also is cost-effective.

Sharing my profile for reference -

Age: 26 yr

Work Ex. (as of March 31, 2025) : 4 years 8 months

GMAT Score : 695 (V81 DI84 Q88)

Educational Qualifications:
1. S.S.C: secured 95.00% (all subjects) from CISCE in 2014 (school rank - 1/200)
2. H.S.C: secured 95.60% (all subjects) from Science stream from CBSE in 2016 (school rank - 2/500)
3. Graduation: 8.81 CGPA pursuing B.Tech in Electronics and Comm. Engg. from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad (rank - 3/110)

Work Experience:
1. Leading analytics for Lemonn. CoinSwitch is an Indian wealth-tech unicorn startup. In its pursuit to make investment equal for all, CoinSwitch launched Lemonn - a stock broking platform.
2. Worked as a Business Analyst for a fortune-100 pharmaceutical company in ZS Associates for 1.5 years.
3. Interned at General Electric as a Sales and Marketing Associate for 3 months.
4. Interned as a Research Associate in IIT Roorkee.

Extra Curricular/Achievements:
1. Launched the official international relations website for better international outreach and perception which subsequently led to a better PI score in the NIRF rankings
2. Coordinated the socio-cultural fest of college with a footfall of around 15,000 and a budget of over half a crore in INR
3. Part of a number of CSR activities in college for the emancipation of orphaned children
4. Winner of a number of inter-school quiz competitions
5. Other administrative posts in college - student member of curriculum updation of electronics department, head of student society of department
6. Awarded the point one percentile certificate by the then Education Minister of India for securing full marks (100) in Mathematics in the 2016 CBSE 12th Board Exam
7. Second Runner up in the Spark IIT Roorkee Research Competition.

About Me:

I am a very curious and empathetic person, who loves meeting new people. In 2021, I got an acceptance from IIM Indore, but rejected it because I wasn't sure why I wanted to pursue an MBA. Later in 2021, I took a risk and switched from a stable multi-national consulting company to an Indian startup in the crypto space, with the aim of working in a fast-paced high pressure environment and gain product-business experience. For the past 1 year, I have been leading the analytics pod for a new investment platform in Indian Stocks. Spearheaded the analytics team during the 0 to 10 journey of the product, and now embarking on the 10-100 journey.

Why MBA:

While my goal of moving into product can be achieved without an MBA, I believe that the tag of a top B-school will boost not only my profile, but also my network which currently mainly comprises of software developers. Also, I am someone who loves to learn from my peers, and a B-school provides the best opportunity to interact with a diverse group of people. Lastly, my teachers & mentors have always left a profound impression on my personal journey - both personally and professionally. Hence, an MBA from a top B-school would help me build my business knowledge, and give me an opportunity to learn from the best faculties in India.

Hi Austin316,
(More POWER to you),

I like your profile very much. you have excellent academics and a wonderful GMAT score, that pretty much proves your academic capability to any business school.

Both ZS and the startup experience look good- we will obviously need to get into more details to know exactly what you have done/ achieved at the two companies, but the basic info you have provided makes it look good. Your goals are ok, with you will need to work upon your reasoning for why MBA? More specific answers about covering your knowledge gaps will help in coming up with credible answers.
