If you have the right reasons for an MBA (even if you don't, we can help to create them with you), you have a great chance at these schools. Your profile is attractive because business schools tend to have lawyers in each class. That said I am interested in why you want to make a change.

Also to be clear, the chances are extremely high at the bottom range of the list, and still pretty good as you rise up.

Please get in touch to learn how we can work together to get you in.

Assuming you really do get the GMAT score mentioned (I am saying this as some people overestimate their scores before they actually take the test and are pretty disappointed when they actually have a score) and you manage to write good essays explaining your post-MBA goal and why you need an MBA, I would say your chances are pretty good. (I am assuming you know what the toughest schools out of these ones are, and I wouldn’t say there are any surprises regarding that due to your profile or anything. However, you should remember that it is also important to demonstrate fit with the schools chosen somehow, so don’t underestimate that when working on the essays)

Hey dude,
Looks good. If you have a good story and a great GMAT, MBA programs love top law school grads. You can do all sorts of compliance/legal stuff that an MBA alone can't do, and it makes for a preeeeetty unique profile.

Get that GMAT, write an awesome application with clear logical goals that make use of your law experience, and you are good for top schools.

Best,
JF

Hi,

You ave a great profile - two things that need to happen going forward:

1) You actually get that GMAT score... Let's assume that this will happen.

2) You also need to have your career goals clearly charted out. You've done well so far. Why do you wish to transition to a career on the business aspects? Why did you leave M&A to work for the plaintiff's office? Why are you looking to get back into business? You need to have clear and believable explanations for these unasked questions.

If you can cover these aspects, you should be on your way to the top.

Best wishes, and feel free to reach out.

Regards,
Karthik

Hi, posting here because my profile is similar.

Was wondering if its possible to impress top B-school (H/S/W) admissions as a corporate lawyer (WE at matriculation will be 4 years at a quality M&A/capital markets law firm) from India with a law degree from the best Indian law school? Have clerking experience, law review and leadership roles in law school and also took a certificate course at Wharton during my study-abroad at Penn. I haven't taken the GMAT yet, but assuming I get a 720+ score? I'm happy with the exposure in my current role and though I'm looking to transition to IB/consulting post-MBA, I wouldn't want to attempt that jump pre-MBA. Thanks!

Hi fearless22,

You seem to have a good profile. However, a 720 will not help you at HSW, especially as an Indian candidate (because you would be a part of an over-represented pool of applicants).

About transitioning to IB/Consulting - depends on your pre-MBA experience. Feel free to reach out to us using the "Schedule a Free Consultation" link below, and I would be happy to get on the phone with you to discuss options.

Regards,
Karthik
