What about UC Davis MBA program.
US news ranking is 48 but it did not appeared in 2015 FT ranking. Although, in 2014 FT ranked it 98 and Economist ranked it 60.
Can someone through some light on UC Davis reputation & credibility in US and across the globe.

For US programs you want to look at US News as the comprehensive source of ranking and school information. They track a whole lot more than FT. On the global scale, it is a Top 100 rated program probably and in the US it is a Top 50 (ranked as #48 actually)

Here is a review from a current student: https://gmatclub.com/reviews/business_school/uc-davis-45
It seems quite positive but they have given it only 3 stars...

Hello Everyone,

I just updated first post with US News 2017 rankings and revised stats. We have seen some big changes in rankings this year; Booth overtook Wharton as a tie #2 with Stanford, Yale made it again in top 10, and Stern tumbled from #11 to 20 (This has been thoroughly discussed here us-news-2017-rankigs-are-out-yale-and-stern-move-215142.html). Few other schools that did remarkably well are Jones(+8), Madison(+6), and Vanderbilt(+5)

Here is a list of top gainer and looser schools

Hi Narenn,

Thank you very much for making the list.I was putting together something similar as well but mine looks like scribbles on the back of a receipt compared to your report :-D

I am unable to see the "Top Programs as per MBA Specialization" table  and I also humbly submit my lack of knowledge in not being able to find the .xls spreadsheet. So could you please point me in the right direction?

Thank you very much! I wish you a splendid weekend :)

Thank you! I can see MBA specialization ranking table. Try to reload the page; it takes time to load ranking charts on forum pages from Google drive. The specialization rankings are old though. I will update them by the end of this week.

I have also attached revised ranking spreadsheet to the first post. You can download it directly from their.

Hi,

Would anyone have a list of 1 year MBA both for USA/International with a specialization in Marketing ?

I am into IT Sales with 10 years of total work experience. Hence looking at a 1 year full time MBA only.

Varun

hi Narenn, thanks for the ranking info. Do you know if there where i can find the criteria for these rankings for all companies (US, Forbes, FT, Economist, Bloomberg). I'm trying to see what they weigh on, but can't seem to find anyones criteria except US News. Thanks.

Any school will provide you with a path to Finance, Marketing, Consulting, etc. Each program allows you to take a few elective classes and that's what you can use to "specialize" your MBA. However, as anyone will tell you, you don't get hired after an MBA because you sat through some classes, it is not a carpentry school or an auto-mechanic training. The reason you get an MBA is to get a job in the mid/upper management and it is impossible for a school to teach you specifics of what you will need - they can only challenge your comfort zone, develop your leadership abilities, emphasize team work, and demonstrate that you are good at prioritizing and time management. Specialization rankings are a farce by en large and you will see that many of them make zero sense. Do your own research but I would guess any top 20 or top 50 MBA will satisfy your needs. Keep in mind that applications are very competitive and so are jobs in some of the fancier industries such as Consulting, PE, VC, etc.

You need to see if you can hang out/connect with some folks who got an MBA and are in Vietnam and get a better sense/feel for what an MBA really is - you will have a much better experience, better results, and less frustration.

P.S. To answer your question, Risk Management is Finance and every school has a wide range of required and optional finance classes.

Thank you for your clear explanation and great advice.
I'm now 27, graduated in 2011 and have been working as a credit risk management officer for 3 years at a commercial bank in Vietnam. I think this job kind of suits me, yet for several reasons I feel the urge to get an abroad postgraduate degree.

Some of my friends who are studying MBA on finance in the US or already got one told me to take the GMAT exam first, so here I am (My real GMAT exam is scheduled in 3rd October 2016). For what I have observed/read/downloaded/... this is such a great forum! (Yes, I've got your MBA Application Guide downloaded)

A small suggestion
If course duration and total cost are also added to the list, it would be of great help.

Thank you for the suggestions - we used to have this info on the table (which made it even wider) but removed it in the latest edition for 2 main reasons:
1. Duration is almost always 2 years in the US and more often than not, 12 months in Europe. In addition, this ranking in particular is for 2-year full time programs, so they all are 2 years in the US.
2. Cost - they are generally very predictable. Starting at $65/year for the top 5 schools and going down to about $55K year at the top 25 level and down to $45K at Top 45 level. In short, for every 1 point increase in rankings, there is a $500/year increase in tuition. (US Schools only in this case)

Yes, I agree, but then there are few courses like Cornell 1yr Tech Mba, which costs $95K.
Also every school usually has multiple courses, such as Evening MBA, 2-Yr Mba etc. Even that information can be shown.
If space is an issue, then a simple solution would be open a 'modal-box', which has all these information, upon hover of school name or click on school name.

Thanks
