I have been waitlisted too! I have an offer from kenan flagler, to which I need to respond by this april 15th!! Could you guys please share your views on this. What do you think is the better college? in terms of general management or marketing or placements? What do you think can/should I do? And all the best to the rest of you
Cheers, Nishanth.

you should pay your deposit and head over to KF - no point in torturing yourself with this WL. They both are pretty similar schools and it comes down to where you want to live post MBA. UT does well in Texas, while KF does well in GA/NC/DC area. For Marketing jobs, I have seen KF grads go to Chicago/NYC as well.
But, you should definitely pay the deposit as it's hard to get off of wait list at any school. Only a handful get in after R3 decisions.
Does anyone know if McCombs a) Accepts supplemental material and b) Gives individual feedback on why you didn't get accepted?

No and No
My understanding is that what you applied with is what you are stuck with as per my email chat with them before the submission of my application. They specifically state due to the number of apps they get they do not provide individual feedback.

Yeah go forward with the deposit unless you want to sit tight.
I really needed to get an energy finance specialization, but at this point I'll just have to pay for a general management degree from the Jones/McCombs part time program and leverage w/e.
Congrats to all the admits... Hope you all make the best of the next few years!

I don't believe they give feedback.

Interesting, since when I talked to the AdCom they said they didn't accept additional test scores after you applied. Maybe it's different for people who have been wait listed.. but still..
waitlisted without interview. Contrary to the popular opinion this result has brought a smile to my face as I have been dinged by every other school till date, Atleast now I get to see one more variation of the 3 possible outcomes. waiting for the 3rd . But snapping back to reality and going through the posts they have waitlisted so many of us. Not sure what the value of waitlist is anymore. Moreover will I have to wait for R3 decisions or is there any possibility of hearing back earlier. Because i am not sure how difficult it might become to get a visa for an Indian because of the short span of time after R3 decisions and starting of the session

Waitlist situations are evaluated on an ongoing basis. That being said, I agree about questioning the value of the wait list these days. There were virtually no admits today.
@rbsx: wtf indeed. Anybody else troubled by the fact that UT keeps 250+ applicants on the wait list despite the fact that its class size is just 275? And did they really need to keep all the waitlisters in suspense after issuing 95% of their R2 admits two weeks ago? I expected better from UT. WL offer declined.
I agree. 250 is a huge number to have on the wait-list. I'm assuming this is R1 and R2 put together. At the rate the wait-list is growing, I get the feeling that there may be more wait-listed than admitted for R2.

Yeah it's mind boggling that the acceptance rate for R2 is lower than R1. I have a sneaking suspicion that they bought off more than they could chew by condensing rounds 2 and 3 and the explosion of applicants was more than they could handle in this time frame.
They may have just wait listed a ton of people while they deal with the backlog?
FWIW, it looks like there were 4 admitted *in the last 72h*...but there were indeed others admitted during the last two weeks during R2. Or am I mistaken?

Yeah, this is frustrating. :X
Well, good thing you have KF bagged already.
You'll do fine at UNC.
They've got better basketball, prettier school colors, nicer weather, and....

There was a batch of sent out about 2 weeks ago (look at the status updates on P1). There were also a handful of rejections sent out too. There were virtually no admits sent out today, a ton of denials and waitlists though.
