Admitted with 30k/yr (this forces a tough decision, but still very happy nonetheless)

Congrats to all those who got their admits today and all the best to those who have been waitlisted.

Many of you have questions regarding scholarship information. Generally, you will be informed of any scholarships when you get the call and/or through the application portal where you see the admit decision/letter. If any scholarship information has not been mentioned, then you can assume that you have not been granted any scholarships. However, there's no reason to get disheartened. Especially if you are deserving, there are chances that scholarship funds may become available in further rounds and you may be granted something.

Hope that helps :)

Best,
Sudish

Sudish, Thanks for this information. Do you know how common it is for scholarship funds to be awarded in later rounds? Frankly, I am feeling a bit disheartened since I have no idea how I can pay for an MBA w/o the help of a scholarship. It's daunting just to think about. I was really hoping for some money since I was accepted to a peer school + $$$. Frankly I would prefer mcdonough, but I'm just not sure how financially viable it is. Also, I note the first deposit it due in February. In your experience, do admitted students learn about scholarship money before or after the deposit due date?

Thank for the info.

Hi,

I would say it is not uncommon to get a scholarship at a later point in time, from my personal experience of course. I was a Round 2 applicant and was admitted without any scholarship. I had to make a decision to accept the offer without knowing if I would receive a scholarship later. However, I made a choice anyway and was ecstatic to hear back from the admissions team after a few weeks of accepting the offer that I had been awarded "some" scholarship.

If you're pretty sure about attending McDonough, I would suggest you speak to financial institutions and try arranging for an education loan at your earliest. This is precisely what I did and helped me make my decision easier because I was able to secure a loan to cover my tuition.

Hope that helps! Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. :)

Best,

Hi Sudish,
My condition is pretty similar, R1 admit without any scholarship.
(My be this is a wrong location to ask next question) What I know is Loan upper limit is 20L for INDIA students
So I am not sure that, even after securing the LOAN, I can make up my mind for McDonough School of Business.

Could all the accepted/waitlisted/dinged applicants please update their profiles so that the table in the first post becomes more meaningful?

P. S. - If you don't want to show your schools and results to the others (like me), you can hide them from your profile.
PM me if someone needs help with that.

has any other R1 admits still not received their welcome package in the mail (like me :-D ). I'm thinking about calling the admissions office to check on it, but I wanted to see if any others were in the same boat...

Question for those who have applied or are applying...

I have taken several courses at two universities in order to build an alternative transcript. I would like to upload transcripts to show my results but I'm not sure where the appropriate spot in the application would be. Should I list the schools in the education section and include the transcripts there even though I did not receive a degree from either school?

I think that would be a good idea, yeah.
Btw, for any queries, you can simply shoot an email to McDonough's Admissions Team; they're VERY prompt in responding!

All the best :)

What's the word-limit for the additional essay for Waitlisted candidates?

I think I read somewhere, but I can't remember now where I read it.
Any ideas?

Edit: Submitted the additional essay with ~320 words (1 page).

Did you just get a decision, or you are late in replying on the forum? :)
Either case, congrats!
