Background: just starting 5th semester BBA from a decently ranked private university in India,

Acads are good but not exceptional (>8/10 GPA), i anticipate a high GMAT score

I'm pretty clear about my career goals. But i have little to no internship and extracurriculars

How good are my chances

What are some things i can do in under six months that can strengthen my application

I intend to do some volunteering and clear French A2 level.

What more can i do

Someone please guide me

aiming for HEC, ESSEC, ESCP, LBS, and then maybe a few more UK unis like imperial, Warwick, etc.

Guru27 - a few q's:

1. What are your career goals - sector, function, geography?

2. Have you participated in any competitions/ certifications at/ outside college?

3. Are you looking at R1 for the 2025 intake?

1. Career goals are to find a job and stay in France long term
Sector is something I'm on the fence about. Finance or Tech is where my interests lie.

2. I haven't participated in any competitions outside college unfortunately. I did clear 1 level of the CIM course(chartered institute of marketing). And I'm willing to do a few courses if that helps

3. Yes , ideally R1 2025 intake but i still have many questions like
Can we apply with only 4/6 semesters transcripts?
Or should we wait until receiving the degree.

You must prioritize developing your extracurriculars and actively seek out internships to gain valuable experience. Without these experiences, there is insufficient evidence for any decently ranked school to consider offering you a seat. If you've previously overlooked these aspects, start taking them seriously now. While considering volunteering activities and pursuing basic French is commendable, it's bare minimum. Explore internship opportunities in startups, where you can immerse yourself in fast-paced projects and contribute significantly to organizational goals. This will provide ample material for your applications. Even if you don't secure admission to a decent MiM program on your first attempt, continuing to take the right steps will eventually yield results. Your efforts will be worthwhile in due time. @Guru27 - thanks for the update.

Your target programs are very competitive and most applicants have prior work-ex (internship and/ or full-time). I would suggest pursuing internships/ projects related to your target roles i.e. Finance/ Tech. Even if these maybe online or with small/ mid sized firms, these can help you gain skillsets and strengthen your pitch. You could also explore Finance/ Tech related certifications (or experiences) by firms like JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley, which are targeted at young graduates. Similarly, participating in competitions hosted by B-schools in your region is another angle to explore.

Having good Extracurriculars is also crucial. These could be any activities you're interested in outside of work/ academics, ideally consistently.

Feel free to reach out if you' like to have a deeper chat.

Hi! The competition is going to be fierce for HEC, ESSEC, ESCP and LBS. So you will have to get a good GMAT score and then for the next 6 months try to get an internship or a really impactful project. The best would be to get a mentor from one of these schools and programs who can guide you in a personalized way to secure an admit to these schools.

If you are interested in connecting with them, please drop a note at helloIVYCRACKERS.COM

Hello Guru27

It sounds like you're on the right track to consider a Master in Management (MIM) program after your BBA. MIM programs are designed for recent graduates like yourself, and your strong academic background (>8.0 GPA) is a good foundation. While a high GMAT score will definitely be a plus, it's important to remember that top business schools also look for well-rounded applicants.

While you mentioned limited internship and extracurricular experience, there's still time to strengthen your profile in the next six months.  Here are some ideas:

1. Focus on impactful volunteering: Look for opportunities that align with your career goals and demonstrate initiative. Consider leadership roles within volunteer organizations.

2. Language skills: Achieving French A2 is a great start, but for schools like HEC and ESSEC, fluency (B2 or higher) would be ideal.

3. Highlight your soft skills: Think about projects or experiences that showcase your teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Considering your target schools (HEC, ESSEC, ESCP, LBS, Imperial, Warwick), it would be incredibly beneficial to schedule a free 1:1 profile evaluation call with our admissions experts.  These experts are alums or current students of these very programs and can provide invaluable insights tailored to your specific background and goals. They can help you craft a compelling application that highlights your strengths and addresses any weaknesses. Don't underestimate the power of personalized guidance in this competitive application process.
