I read that big consulting firms look at ur GMAT like a b-school does.

They shouldn't do that IMO, but does anyone know if they have a specific number they are looking for?

There is no hard and fast number. These firms recruit only from the Top bschools where the average gmat is 700-740. So, they usually look for 720+, the higher the better. However, there are lots of other things that matter, such as GPA (both undergrad and MBA) , reputation of your school, case solving ability, any spike factor in the profile, resume, etc.
