Maybe its not as bad as you think. Is it worded as a ding or "we just can't say yes now, but might say yes on march 3"? I always like to look at the glass half full.

She basically ended the email by saying best of luck in my future endeavors. I'm gonna go with 95% chance of a ding, 5% chance of hope. I'm disappointed but it'll be ok.

ChemEng2013, I'm so sorry to hear that. Try again next year, maybe you will have more luck. As far as your help with the interview questions, that was invaluable. I bet with your experience in China and your work experience, you could definitely try again next year. Good luck to you!

When do you think they'll start calling the accepted candidates this year? In previous years the deadlines have been earlier in the week and they called the Friday before. This year the deadline is a Friday, so maybe mid-week before?

I don't know if they will send a rejection email or call. If I remember correctly, last year they called the applicants. But those with an early decision got an email.

So are some speculating we'll get our decisions next week?

That's what I was getting at, yes. It seems like in past years the admissions committee has called the accepted candidates a few days before the stated deadline.

Yes, I got in. :-D

As of now both the schools know I got into both places and Stanford's admissions coordinator told me that they will return my deposit if I choose to go to MIT so the deposit is no longer a factor, but everything else stands. MIT LGO starts in June and Stanford GSB/SoE starts in September.

Also, they won't be telling you about the scholarships over the phone I guess. I asked and was told that it wasn't finalized yet.

Congrats to you too. I guess you're new to the forum. I dont know if I will attend LGO or Stanford yet. I guess you got the call before me.

Congrats!! So what's the decision going to be? And when do you have to make it by?

I have to decide by the end of next month I suppose. I tried to ask a bunch of questions but I was told I'll be getting an email with the details soon and an official offer package will be mailed to everyone together. Still more inclined towards Stanford to be frank.

Yes, I did. I exchanged emails with my interviewer and I had sort of a positive hint already. But I believe only today did they start calling early requesters who got in.

Like GradQueen, I also have to choose between two great schools. HBS and MIT but LGO is the right choice for me. Much luck to everyone else.

I guess its the early one cz the others who got in also requested to know early like I did. Nubillicity and LGOlady might have sort of heard on email before, but for me this call was the first positive news I had.

LGO over HSB? You're very sorted about what you want.

I skimmed over your posts. It was much simpler for me. HBS does not have a dual degree program to compare to LGO, but Stanford does. Also, I live in Boston so I didn't even apply to any school in the west.
